DD wet the bed last night. Some got on her pillow. How do I wash it? Can I dry it in the dryer? It's not feather. I feel so ignorant!

I'm not sure! I only know that one time a puppy peed on dh's pillow. I washed it in the washer and then tried to dry it. I took FOREVER to dry!!! If it happens again I will just toss the pillow and get a new one. Just my experience! Good luck:)

To be honest, I have never washed a pillow either. I have pillow protectors and if something like that happened, I would likely toss it and get a new one too. LOL So don't feel so ignorant!!

I wash and dry mine every few months. The allergy dr. suggested that I do this atleast once a month. i always put a shoe in the dry ( ole tennis shoe washable and dryable) to help fluff it up.

I have had the same thing happen and I have washed with much success and they come out fluffier also. But only once did I wash it and it dried and the stuffing was so lopsided and I couldn't get it straightened out. IF it is a good pillow I would suggest trying to wash it. IT may work and if it doesn't you can always buy another which you would be doing anyway if you didn't wash it.

My pillows always seem to get wierd when I wash them, so I could be inclined to just buy her a new one.

I wash ds #2's pillow all the time. He still has frequent accidents at night and it always gets on his pillow. LOL, if I tossed the pillows every time it happened I would be in the poor house! ;)

I have foam pillows, and have occasionally washed them. I put them through a second spin, air dry, and then put in the dryer on cold air for half an hour to plump them up again. And I would get waterproof protectors for the pillows. I know they can be less than comfortable, but use two pillow cases, or put a quilted pillow cover on top of the waterproof one.

I wash pillows all the time. Not because I enjoy it, mind you. But my little ones always manage to soil them. I, too, have found that the pillows get weird looking when they are washed and dried, so when I put them in the dryer now, I put some old tennis balls in there with them. This helps them fluff back out.

Thanks everyone. I just bought the pillow like 2 weeks ago so I didn't really want to pitch it. I'll wash it and see what happens. I didnt even think about waterproof pillow covers until last night! Thank you so much for all of the advice!
