Ok, my heart just skipped a beat when I looked at the calendar! Oh my goodness....only 7 1/2 weeks until my due date. I feel like I have so many little things to do and to get. Not to mention Christmas shopping in the next 3 weeks. (I'm usually the one who does it all!) I'm so excited to meet this little guy, but I'm feeling a wee bit of anxiety! Aggggggh! Ok, just had to vent!!

Have fun Eve! Just think...at least you'll beat the crowds!

Awww, I can't wait to see him. That is so awsome!!!! I am thrilled for you. Take it easy and don't do too much, shop online what you can. Take care of that little man.

{{{Eve}}} I'll help you shop and/or would be happy to pick up stuff for you. Just let me know... :)

I was 8 months pregnant at Christmas with dd and got put on bedrest for 2 weeks. I couldn't do hardly any shopping. DH got a lot of Wal-Mart and Target gift cards that year for family and friends other than the boys. Everybody was happy with the cards cause they got to shop themselves after Christmas and got deals, too. Don't stress too much over that part of Christmas.

Kinda just creeps up on you all of a sudden, huh? I can't wait to *see* him!

LOL Eve, I can so relate to where you are! I was in a little denial about my youngest, I went to the doc at 8 months and he said "you're at a 3, it could be any day!" I just about freaked out! So much to do, so little time. But you will get it all done, it may be different than your original plans, but it will all be okay, whatever you do!

Yes, have fun!

I made lists. Every time I thought of something else I would need, I put it on my list. Ds came by suprise in the middle of the night- water broke and I realized it when I got up to go to the bathroom. So, while my dh is running around like a frightened hen, I am calmly going down my list and putting things in a bag. :)

As for Christmas, dont' stress about decorating too much. I did, and I didn't enjoy it. I just had to put it all back while I was overtired. As for as shopping, limit your list to only those closest to you. Others will probably understand if you don't get to them this year. Or just get gift cards/certificates and stuff them in cards.

Eve, Relax, you'll get it all done and if you don't, oh well -- look at the end result and smile.

Eve, RELAX and enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy. Everything else can take a backseat. Your dd needs Santa's presents but everyone else will understand that you were busy this year.

If they don't understand then they don't deserve presents from you in the first place! :) Remember that the holidays are all about family not the gifts we give or receive.

Eve my youngest DS was due 12/9 , but didn't make his arrival via induction until Friday the 13th. :) My doctor kept wanting to strip my membranes because I had been dilated 5 cm for almost a month. I kept saying, "I don't have my tree up, I still have a few more presents to buy, etc." Finally I walked into her office and told her the tree was up, presents were bought, cookies were baked, let's roll!

I loved having my Christmas baby---maybe because I'm a Christmas baby (12/18) too! It's a wonderful time to have a newborn. Enjoy these last few weeks of intimacy when you get to have him all to yourself. Can't wait until he gets here!

Ditto everyone else. Alec was born 12/8 and some things got done, some didn't. Oh well. No one cared since all they wanted to do was see the new baby. :) I look back now and realize that for all my worry about getting stuff done, it was the perfect Christmas. Get Syd's stuff done, and then don't worry. :)

I really miss carrying the baby in my belly. Being able to feel it move and kick and for it to be with me all day. It was a special time. Don't feel too rushed just relax and enjoy it.

We moved into our first house on December 10th. When we were closing on the house, they asked us if we were going to be getting a tree. We said no! The real estate lady was shocked. "you're not going to get a tree, your first Christmas in your new house?"

Well, it was already so close to Christmas. We had just spent all this energy packing up and moving. Now, we needed to unpack. Putting up a tree, just seemed like so much added work! Besides, it barely felt like "my house" yet! We put up just a few Christmas decorations and called it a day. I was about to find out I was pregnant with my first one, so I was probably tired, too!

It's the only Christmas that we didn't have a tree! We for sure put one up the next Christmas, though! So, don't sweat the details. It will all work out.

Thanks, everyone. Relax right now is easier said than done. I think with my DH away this whole week is just adding to my stress level--he's not here to calm me down and work out a plan with me. Plus, I'm getting over a chest cold and not feeling super well...

Also, some of my family is coming here for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've decided I'm not traveling at all. We travel every single year and this is a perfect time for me to say no. So, I feel like I have added preparation that needs to be done. I guess I am prepared for the baby to come (pretty much) and my DH can finish Christmas shopping for my DD. I guess you are right, I need to focus on that!

Thanks for letting me vent. I know things will be fine.:)
