Avid HGTV watchers.......I have a question

I am going crazy in our overcrowed 2 bdrm home. We have the finances to add on to make a babies room (well, actually a new master room) and a new family room. Can you ladies help me decide which show would best fit what I am wanting to do? I want to apply to have it done.

I was thinking of the show where you have 3 designers make a plan and you pick one. I don't think we fit the parameters for "Make room for Baby" since the baby is already here. Wish I knew about that show while I was pregnant!

TIA for any info you can give me about the programing. I wanted to save some time of researching before I hit the website to view the various shows. There are so many out there these days.

Apply for any/all as it is difficult to get on them. Trust me, I was interviewed for "While you were out". I lost out because my space wasn't big enough (they need lots of room for camera crew)

Thanks for the tip. Are there shows on TLC that do new construction? Most of the ones I see there are those quick fix it up to look nice shows.

Not that I know of. Most are a couple days work so it would be impossible to do new construction with that time frame. There is one called Before and after but I am not positive that it is new programing or just repeats.

I think that show is called Designers Challenge. All the ones that I've watched have had quite high amounts of money that they have available for the remodel. ($50K for a kitchen, $35K to redo a master bedroom and bath) I don't know if that plays a factor in how they pick people or not. And, maybe you are looking at spending $50K+. I think it depends on your area. We could almost build an entire house on that much $$ here, lol.

That would be great if you could get on the show! I wonder if they compensate you?
