Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive October 2005: What is/was for dinner?
By Boxzgrl on Friday, October 7, 2005 - 09:16 pm:

We are having Mexican food night. DH is grilling some carne asada. I made Chili Relleno and guacamole. My friend is bringing over refried beans and homemade mexican rice and another type of dip. I can't wait until it's all done. I'm so hungry... Yum!

By Bea on Friday, October 7, 2005 - 10:46 pm:

We went out for dinner.....Prime Rib....Baked Potato..... Salad and Fantastic Hushpuppies.

By Enchens on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 04:02 am:

By Jackie on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 05:11 am:

We have tacos, not too exciting LOL

By Trina~moderator on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 08:28 am:

DH picked up Bertucci's pizza on the way home from work. Yeah! I didn't have to cook! :)

By Kernkate on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 09:03 am:

We had steak on the grill, baked potatoes, and a salad. Our grill won't get to much use with the cold weather coming. Tonight is Pizza since DH and I have a night out:)

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 09:07 am:

I picked up some Popeyes chicken last night. HUGE mistake. I was craving fried chicken, something I NEVER eat, and when DH is home, he'd never consider eating it. I ate a fried breast and a fried wing, and my stomach has been in knots ever since. I practically never eat fried food, and I'm thinking it will be a LONG time before I eat it again! LOL

Jen and I are going to the outlet mall near Baton Rouge today and we will eat out today. It will probably be salad for moi!

By Pamt on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 11:01 am:

Karen, are you going to Tanger Mall in Gonzales? Next time you'd better email or call and let me know. I know to get out that way and do some fall shopping for the boys and I could have met you for lunch. I LOVE that place and am glad it is so close.

By Bellajoe on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 11:17 am:

Stuffed shells, garlic bread, salad, and home made cheese cake for dessert.

By Tink on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 11:23 am:

Last night was BBQ pork pizza and a green salad. Tonight will probably be grilled chicken and rice with broccoli.

By Breann on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 11:33 am:

We ate out. Chinese food. It was ok, but not the best.

Tonight will be ????? I have no idea yet!

By Colette on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 11:39 am:

Dh made a chicken stir fry and I picked up some takeout chinese to go with it. tonight we are going out.

By Emily7 on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 12:39 pm:

Last night fajita's & tonight meatloaf.

By Luvn29 on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 01:31 pm:

I have a roast in the crockpot, so in a short while we will be having roast with gravy over mashed potatoes. I only make roast in the crockpot because it just comes out fall apart tender...

We are all sitting here starving to death from the smell of the roast cooking!!!

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 08:18 pm:

Pam, that is where we went. MANY a good bargain to be found today! LOL Sorry, next time I'll call! We really did enjoy our day though. Our relationship has been strained for quite a while and we are getting it back on track. We had a great day together. And got some cute and great stuff for easily half or 1/3 of the price we would normally have paid!

By Sue3 on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 08:25 pm:

Country Bean Soup , Tossed Salad and Garlic Bread and Dream Whip Desert.
Perfect meal for a FREEZING evening. LOL !
Enchens , your meal sounds fantastic !

By Pamt on Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 08:27 pm:

Karen, glad you guys had a good time together and found some great bargains. It's good that we didn't meet up since it sounds like you both really needed the mother-daughter time. So glad it was successful.

And I forgot to answer the original question.
Tonight we are having broccoli-cheese chicken, garlic dill red potatoes, rolls, and chocolate Coca-Cola cake for dessert. Yum!

I swear you guys do this just to torture me!

Maybe having my MIL here for 3 weeks is the reason I'm already back in my clothes.

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, October 9, 2005 - 09:28 pm:

Is your MIL doing all the cooking and making what she wants? Why are we torturing you, heaventree? Our chili was soooo good.

By Heaventree on Monday, October 10, 2005 - 08:20 pm:

Dawn, my MIL is a horrible cook. She's here helpling out so I can't really tell her what to do. I bought some beautiful pork loin chops the other day. She cooked them, it was like eating shoe leather.

One more week and I can dig into the freezer and eat all the great stuff my mom made when she was here.

By Annie2 on Monday, October 10, 2005 - 08:49 pm:
