If you put gourds around INSIDE for decoration, will they attract bugs or fruit flies or anything? I've always kept them outside on the front porch for decoration, but I'd like to put some around inside, too, but not if they will rot in the warm house or attract anything gross. We tried to carve one once, and it was ROCK HARD. Impossible to even make a cut into. So I'm thinking maybe they don't really rot for several months? But maybe in a warm house they would rot faster. And they seem SO unfriendly fruit wise that I'm hoping they don't attract the bugs, but I just don't know! Anyone a gourd expert?

I have dried gourds in my house but not fresh ones. I would think it would be fine though.
