Kelly Clarkson disappointment!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive September 2005: Kelly Clarkson disappointment!

She bailed on us here in Pensacola!

Her first concert scheduled was cancelled due to Hurricane Dennis. Understandable, of course.

It was rescheduled for Sept. 16th but was cancelled because it was reported that she was ill with bronchitis.

It was reported today that her concert will NOT be rescheduled due to conflicts in her schedule.

My three girls are so sad. My friend and I had tickets to take her girls and mine. If our venue was Madison Square Garden, she would reschedule. Her fans in this area spend the same amount of money buying her cd's, concert tickets and listening to her on the radio. These fans aren't good enough? She's headed to Australia in Nov. I guess those fans are more important than her fellow Americans!?

I'm ticked...can you tell? Thanks for listening. LOL

She honestly doesn't set up her own schedule, so I am sure she didn't just decide she didn't think you all were worth singing to. She like the rest of us just does what she is told. Yes it sure stinks though. I would see about finding someone else to go see.

We spent good money on tickets to go to a Christian music festival in August. When we got there, we found out that one of the girls was sick, in the group that Sarah wanted to see. She was so disappointed, but you can't help getting sick. Anyway, we watched another group, she got pictures and autographs and bought a shirt. She ended up still going home happy. Me, I thought it was all too loud and couldn't understand a word they were singing. I was glad when it was over.

Annie, I can understand why you and your daughters are disappointed. But, I really don't think it is fair to say that she doesn't think the fans in your area are good enough. Like, Bobbie said, I doubt she is the one who sets up her schedule. I'm sure she would have to cancel somewhere else to be able to play in your area. So, no matter what, someone is going to be upset. JMHO

That's a bummer! I'm not a big concert goer, but my sister is and this has happened to her before. She's gotten her money back though. I really like Kelly Clarkson's new album--it would have been fun. I hope you can get some sort of refund. Will she be coming back to your area?

By Annie2 on Friday, September 30, 2005 - 07:24 pm:

Yes, we can get our money back. I do have to drive back to the civic center, instead of handling it on the phone, but that's not a big deal.

I didn't mean her personally, I should have made myself more clear. I know she doesn't make up her own schedule...I know she has managers, publicists, etc. However the team is under her name....so I placed my irritation on her in general.

Not many huge teen idols come to this area especially ones which I would consider letting my children go see. This was going to be their first. Oh well.
