Going to the chapel......

for dh's close cousin's wedding. He hasn't seen his side of the family for five years.

Of course we are excited to go BUT it has cost us a small fortune already to book flights for six, hotel accommendations for three nights, the wedding gift....not to mention the new clothes/shoes some of the kids will need, not to mention my new dress and heels! LOL Plus I have to board two dogs for five nights.

UUggghhh! It would be different if we were going to be gone for a week but we will be gone for three days! Not trying to be a downer but.....I guess I am being one. Thanks for the vent!

Its a shame you couldn't have just sent a gift! Yes, that sounds expensive for just three days! Hope you guys at least have fun.

Well, I hope you have a good time and enjoy your trip!

I can relate to how you are feeling!!

This is going to sound tacky on my part but... my dh's niece is getting married next month in Dallas and I do NOT want to spend the money to go either! lol I am thinking I will stay home with the kids and send dh and his older ds alone. Otherwise, if we took all the kids I'd have to buy them all clothes, plus clothes for myself, pay the neighbor boy to feed my dogs and cat, etc...

Besides~ weddings are boring, especially for boys. So if you are a 'Debbie Downer' then I am TOO! :)

Thanks, at least I know I'm not the only one.

I was trying to convince dh that we should go alone but he is big on family and wants his side to see the kids. I also made it known that he will not be going golfing with the boys and leaving me with the kids!

I'm going to put the cost out of my mind and just go to have a great time. His family is alot of fun, so it should be a good time.

At least I am getting two new dresses and shoes out of the deal! LOL. It's not until Nov. so I have plenty of time to shop. The mother of the bride suggested I wear a "cute summer dress". I'm bringing along a cocktail dress, just in case. LOL
