Kaye, did you know I have a good friend IRL named Kay that has her masters in occupational therapy? :)

By Jtsmom on Monday, September 19, 2005 - 09:37 pm:

Did you know that I met my husband by trying to fix him up with my friend. We all worked together, but him along with my friend are 16 years older than me. I am 32 and he is 48! My friend is 48 and ended up marring a 35 year old. Imagine how we confuse people when we double date.

Did you know that I REFUSE to wear pantyhose? My dad was so angry with me about this when I was younger. It was funny bc he always tried to make me feel like I was portraying myself as a "loose woman". Hhhhmmm...how is it that a man invents pantyhose yet they don't wear them? I finally had to tell my dad, after years of just ignoring him and letting it slide off my back, that HE is more than welcome to wear them! :)

By Kernkate on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 09:45 am:

Did you know that a friend of mine and a friend of Gary's ran into each other at a Dairy Queen and planned our future together? LOL! We call them The Instigators!

She called Gary and asked him if he would go out with me. He thought about it a day and then said yes. Then she called me to see if I would go out with him and I said yes. The rest is history. The anniversary of the first date will be Nov. 7th (I think) and it will have been 19 years ago! In October, we will have been married for 18 years.

Did You know Im shocked at PamT's post about DisneyWorld LOL :)
Its one of those places, you either feel the magic or dont. I FEEL the Magic. I love it there, have been there over 12 times, and get sad to leave. It is overpriced, but its one of those places I pay the price because I love it so much.

By Momofmax on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 03:23 pm:

Did you know that we evacuated the suburbs of New Orleans on my son's sixth birthday, spent the next three weeks living out of ONE suitcase, finally moved back two days ago to begin cleaning up, eating military MRE's (never thought I'd be glad to have them!) and now are facing another evacuation? We first evacuated to my sister's but now her family has to evacuate for Rita so I have no clue as to where we will go. I do know that wherever we go there will be nice, caring people to help us. And through it all, I've not met ONE person behaving badly. When I got back to my town the Family Dollar's front windows were completely blown in and all of the merchandise was just sitting there. There were people living in my town a week before I came home. The CNN footage of the looting showed a SMALL part of what's really going on around here. People are helping strangers, the police are givng kids candy at the Red Cross stations, neighbors are climbing on each other roofs and covering the holes so rain from Rita won't get in. This is a wonderful country with wonderful people. It's a shame that the news makes our area look like the only people who live here are selfish animals.

By Mrsheidi on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 03:33 pm:

GOOD TO HEAR!!! That's my favorite "Did you know" yet!!! Thanks SO much for sharing!!

By Pamt on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 08:19 pm:

Did you know I that I always found hurricane warnings *a little exciting* until this year? Having spent all but 9 years of my life within 60 miles of the gulf in either AL or LA I have been through a bazillion hurricane watches and warnings --the prep, talk about town, etc. are a little fun and bring the community together. The reality of a hurricane---NOT so much fun. I'm really weary.

By Agreen on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 09:15 pm:

Did you know that my DD went into the "dirty" laundry tonight, stole a pair of my panties and then proceeded to walk around the house with them around her neck? How embarrassing and hysterical!!

By Kaye on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 10:53 pm:

Did you know that I am glued to the TV screen. If I didn't have kids I would have been one of the no so smart ones to ride out the storm.

My gut feel says it will hit just north of galveston and take it off the map.

By Crystal915 on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 11:05 pm:

Pam, I did too, when living in South FL. Of course, I lived there during "slow" years, my grandmom's house (in the same town) took damage last year with the storms.

Did you know... I learned to waterski when I was 7 years old? (I haven't been in years, I miss it!!)

By Crystal915 on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 11:09 pm:

Kaye... I know it's being projected more to the west than originally thought, but my gut feeling is it's going to change direction again, and hit TX dead on. We almost moved to Port Lavaca for a firefighting job, thank God we didn't because I think they are gonna take a major blow!!

I had a lot of step-dads…I did not like my childhood.. not alot of good memories. So when I say it is a big deal for me to be married to 1 man and have all 3 children by him, and still love him so much (even though he gets on my nerves sometimes) I mean it is a really big deal to me.

By Mrsheidi on Friday, September 23, 2005 - 09:17 am:

Woah, Candis!! Way to break the cycle!! I can see why you are so close with your dad, even though you were raised by your mom. We have the same situation here. My mom is a nut, but I love her. :)

Did you know that, in high school, I shaved the lower back part of my hair at a Halloween party? A whole bunch of us did it (about 10 girls). I kept it a secret for about a month and then my mother found out...she got VERY angry. :)

By Missbookworm on Friday, September 23, 2005 - 09:40 am:

Cat you NUT!! likes the dentist lol :P cute...

Did you know that I'm terrified of those big furry looking brown moths? completely..and for no reason I can think of...but I scream and hit the floor if one flies "at me" in my house...and hopefully I have something to throw over my head (like my robe) so I can crawl outta range of it and get my oldest son to kill it... YES that has happened....twice.

Ohhhhhhhhh I did that too heidi! My mom was like *shrugs* but my "aunt" smacked me for it :(

By Kaye on Friday, September 23, 2005 - 09:42 am:

Did you know that I could deal with the crazy heat and humidity of this past summer over the
-40 anytime??!!!!!

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, September 24, 2005 - 01:36 pm:

Did you know I could have tolerated the heat and humidity of late summer, if our AC unit hadn't died! LOL! We did have some room air conditioners, but it wasn't quite the same! LOL! DH wanted to wait until October to get the $200 rebate on a new AC unit for the whole house.

By Tink on Saturday, September 24, 2005 - 01:46 pm:

Did you know that I consider anywhere the temperature drops below 40 degrees uninhabitable? Yet we routinely get temps over 110 each summer and I can handle that pretty well!

Did you know that I vaccumed up a gazillion love bugs an hour ago and they are back again?

By Reds9298 on Saturday, September 24, 2005 - 02:19 pm:

By Pamt on Saturday, September 24, 2005 - 06:16 pm:

Did you know that I hate hearing you guys talk about fall and cool weather because in Louisiana we don't even have fall? We go from summer to 2 weeks of winter to 2 weeks of spring, then back to summer. Ugh!!!

Tink, love bugs are annoying bugs that appear all through the southeastern US in the late summer and early fall. They are called love bugs, because when you see them flying (rather swarming) around there are always 2 stuck together because they are ALWAYS mating. They are small, skinny fly-like bugs but they cover the entire front grill and windshield of your car, get stuck all in your hair, and even make their way inside in their frenzy of copulation. Semi trucks will be literally black on the front from driving through swarms of them. They are just icky.

Did You Know... that the movie "Unfaithful" starring Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez makes me wonder if affairs are really *that* hot and steamy with such a sexy man? Of course, I know they aren't but if I we're forced to have a mad make out session, i'd so go Diane Lane style, LMBO!

By Kaye on Monday, September 26, 2005 - 08:09 pm:

Did you know that today my daughter and are making altered paint cans for Christmas? They are empty gallon size paint cans decorated with fabric & trim. We are going to put our candles and homemade treats inside for the neighbors and hubbys co-workers. We have A LOT to make so we are making a few each weekend. It is fun!

By Reds9298 on Sunday, October 2, 2005 - 04:19 pm:

What a great idea and so much fun Yvonne!

By Kaye on Sunday, October 2, 2005 - 05:41 pm:

Did you know that I am a horrible lawn keeper? I do the bare minimum and hate it. I love a beautiful lawn though, so it makes me sad. I just mowed the lawn and realize how much work it needs and it needs a lot really every week. Hubby doesn't do outdoor work (heck he hardly does any manual labor)

By Mrsheidi on Sunday, October 2, 2005 - 07:33 pm:

Yvonne...where do you get clean paint cans? That's a cute idea! And, Kaye I love a good lawn and I actually love to mow the lawn but DH insists on doing it. Which, I don't mind now that we live in a humid area now. :)

Did you know that my uncle believes in aliens and even travels all over to try to find them? He even has a statue to try to ward off "bad spirits" in front of his house. It has red eyes that light up at night...VERY creepy. :)

did you know that last night, while being a complete idiot I stood up, under my dresser, drawer out and hit my head harder than I ever thought possible. I have a huge cut that didn't really bleed (2 inches by 1/2 inch). I probably have a concussion, but I guess I am doing better now than I was last night!

By Dawnk777 on Monday, October 3, 2005 - 09:13 am:

Oh OUCH, Kaye! Did you know that now that we have the storm windows in the doors and the window AC units out of the windows, that now it's going to get up into the 80's today and tomorrow? We thought fall was here! Ugh. Guess we will have all the fans on!

By Kaye on Monday, October 3, 2005 - 09:52 am:

did you know that I am a former special ed teacher and I get offered a job nearly once a month? I just turned one down this morning that is making me think twice..LOL. I would have to give up my tennis team to work this job, but it would fit in every other area of my life. So basically playing tennis (0 dollars) is more important than making 1k a month, I may be crazy!

By Melanie on Monday, October 3, 2005 - 10:39 am:

Kaye, I don't think you are crazy for making that decision at all! That is important "you" time, not to mention the health benefits. If you don't *have* to work, I would say keep your tennis time! :)

And I hope your head feels better! OUCH!!

By Sue3 on Monday, October 3, 2005 - 12:10 pm:

LOL Kaye , We are redoing our whole upstairs and
last week I set the hammer on the ladder and was cleaning up under it and bumped the ladder and the hammer came down on my head ! I felt like a complete idiot too .
Dawn , I just had dh take out our air conditioning units out of our windows too , now I am thinking why did we take them out ??
It`s suppose to be in the 80`s the next 3 days.
In Michigan the last time they hit a record high of 85 in October was in 1950 !!
They think we may set another one this week.
Did you know ,I am suppose to be cleaning out the chicken coop right now but I decided to visit all of you instead ! hee hee

By Enchens on Monday, October 3, 2005 - 01:55 pm:

Did you know this is the first time since I moved out of my parents' home 10 years ago that I've heard someone mention a chicken coop? My mom still has one in the backyard. Though we really aren't supposed to have more than three chickens because we are within the city limits. I ask myself, "What city?? We live in Farmersville!" That should say it all.

By Bellajoe on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 - 11:48 am:

Did you know that my dh wants to build a new house and move (about 5 miles away) and I really really don't want to move because we have great neighbors here, lots of kids playing on the street and the elementary school is right across the street from us, so i walk dd to school every day. Why would I want to leave that? (btw, i think I am winning :) )

Did you know that another side of effect of the hurricanes is there are NO rental cars in Houston? I have been on 10 waiting list since yesterday at 8 am and just happened to luck into one at 3 today. I had 30 minutes to pick it up or they would have to give it to someone else. YIKES. My dh had a wreck and he has my car at work and tomorrow we both have to be a different places at different times. Crazy!

It may be a large Christmas for her this year! But I don't care - she's 15mths. and we don't buy things for her just whenever. It's just so fun!
