For those walk their dogs...

Do you clean up after them, when you are walking them? I swear, this is one of my biggest pet peeves. When Im out walking with Faith in the stroller, and I see dog poop on peoples lawns, or on school property. We live down the street from the school. On the weekends, it seems that dog owners think this is their own personal doggie park. Behind the school, is 2 small playgroundsm and a baseball field. People let their dogs run around back there, and poop and never clean it up. It makes me SO mad, because this is a place for kids, this is school properity, because this is where my kids spend their recess and PE time out there. Both my kids haev told me of other kids stepping in dog poop. How can people be so irresponsible to let their dogs poop out there knowing htey are on school property. Granted they are not walking their dogs during school hrs, but the remains are there.
I can say with 100% accuracy I ALWAYS take a plastic bag with me for dog walks, and ALWAYS clean up after my dogs.
Ijust dont understand how adults dont think twice about who steps in their dogs poop?
Am I the only one this bothers?

I hate this!!! In our old house, we had a corner lot right across the street from a park with walking trails. Everyone walked their dog by the side of our house. We always found dog poop in our yard and we don't have a dog! One day I stood and watched a man letting his dog poop in our yard. He knew I was standing there and he still started to walk off without cleaning it up. I said, excuse me, aren't you going to clean that up? He said no, I don't have anything with me to clean it up. I told him to hold on, I would be more then happy to get something, so he could clean up HIS dog's poop. I sent my ds into the house to get a plastic bag. I will say, I never saw him walk his dog by our house again!!

Debbie, I have a funny story like that too. A couple of yrs ago I was walking one of my dogs, was like 2 houses away and saw some lady letting her dog poop on my lawn. I get close enough and say "Are you going to pick that up"(She didnt know I lived there)and the lady replied"Oh I didnt bring anything with me".. So I said "Here you can have my bag", and she said "Oh wont you need this?" and I said "Nope, I live here!",, I never saw that lady or dog again :)

Our dog doesn't poop when we walk her. She frequently pees, but she saves her potty time for our backyard. :)

In circumstances where we have to walk her, like Pamt's dog, she doesn't normally poop, but I have a pooper scooper and when she does, I always pick up the poop.

I HATE when people don't pick up after their dogs or let them pee on my grass. The last time someone did it (after several days of it and requests that they stop) I turned the sprinkler on them.

We ALWAYS clean up after our dogs. We (the dog and walker) leave the house with two plastic bags for that purpose.

If you see poop near the sidewalk at my house, it is my dog's poop. I try to pick up every couple days or so. This week has been bad. I've been working and then stuff after work, and by that time it's dark out! It will be my weekend task.

On a walk, DEFINITELY carry bags and DEFINITELY pick up! Yikes, even the dog knows she's going on a walk, when we grab the plastic bag! LOL!

I also think it's RUDE, when people don't pick up. If Jasmine goes and it's just over the property line, it also gets picked up RIGHT AWAY.

My dog doesn't poop, but when we go to the park in Grand Rapids, we always take our doggie bags with us.

Now, in Hastings, where we are planning to move, we have noticed that they don't allow dogs in the parks. HMMmmmm....

And one of my neighbors actually put up a fence along the side of her yard, b/c the neighbor on that side was letting his dog poop in her yard. It hasn't done any good- that guy's dog still goes around the fence to go in her yard. I watched it, it was juuuust inside her yard, not more than a foot away from the fence. I asked dh if she puts the poop back in his yard, and he said he saw her do it once. I would save a whole pile of it a put it on his doorstep!

Most people around here do pick up their dog stuff. At parks nearby, there are "stations" where you can grab a bag in case you need it...i think whoever thought that up was a genius! No excuses to not pick it up!

My brothers dog poops every 5 steps, i swear! I took him for a short walk, maybe 5-10 houses up the street and the dog pooped 3 times! It is so gross to pick it up, but i did. Thank goodness i don't have to walk their dog often.

We do. They are really strict on base about it. Most neighbors (including me) are good at reporting those who don't. "Three strikes and you're out" is the rule with base housing. :)

Sometimes, Jasmine does pee, on people's grass, while we we are on a walk. Sometimes, we try to get her to go potty before a walk, but that doesn't always work. I have never been yelled at for it, though.
