Pelvic Prolapse

Anyone experienced this? What course of treatment was successful for you?

I think this is what's happening with me. I have an appointment with my GYN in a few weeks to discuss tubal ligation and will talk with her about it then. I want to know what to expect.

(Okay to go anon? I would rather not have my name come up on a search.)

I have a prolapse. It's not horrible (I'm not falling out) and it doesn't bother me at all. The nurse pointed it out at my last gyn appointment. She suggested I do like 100 kegels (sp?) a day. She did say if it got worse or did start bothering me I had a couple options, and that sooner rather than later would be good at that time. One option was an operation where they suspend the uterus to lift things back up where they belong. The other was a hysterectomy (don't even want to go there--I'm only 34). Have you done a google search (or another search engine)? The internet has loads of info out there. Just remember not to believe everything you read. :) Good luck. :)

I have researched it - which is kind of how I self-diagnosed myself LOL. It's not so much my uterus (I don't think anyway) because nothing is falling out, it just feels like things have changed position. Hard to explain (and probably TMI :) ) I had been told before that the muscles had weakened, but I never had any noticable symptoms until now.

Yea, well, when you have a hysterectomy, then you have bladder prolapse - I have to have surgery to have mine lifted, but I'm putting it off as long as I can.

And yes, this is proper use of the ANON feature. :-)

My sister had bladder prolapse from delivering her 2 sons. 3 different specialists told her it was caused from her deliveries and poor obgyn management of pushing and length of pushing.
She is 40, has had 2 surgeries for is, STILL has to wear a panty liner daily for leaking, and takes medication to keep the leaking at a minimum. She doesn't have a hysterectomy or tubal ligation.

I don't have this, but from a surgical tech aspect of the surgery to treat this, it's a minor surgery and have heard good things about it. It's a day procedure most times and recovery time is said to be fairly quick.
