Has this happened to anyone?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive September 2005: Has this happened to anyone?

My husband and I just found out we are pregnant...again! My little one is only four months old, and quite frankly, I'm scared. Oh, and I also have my 2 year old, whom we are trying to potty train.
I'm not quite sure what scares me, I just feel scared. We are, of course, very elated with the news, but my baby is only four months old, and he was a bit premature. I'd like to breastfeed him for as long as I did his brother (18 months), but I don't think that is going to be possible and I feel guilty about it. (I get 24 hour morning sickness).
And then of course, I felt selfish for even thinking about getting my own body back to my prepregnancy size.
We are still renting, and the place in which we live is getting too small. I don't know if I'm getting sad and weepy because we weren't prepared for another baby, or if it's the hormones.
I just needed to get this out. Thanks for listening.

(((HUG))) I'm sure it's overwhelming now, but it will get better. I'll be thinking about you.

{{{HUGS}}} I think I would be emotional, too! Hang in there!

I found out I was pregnant with our fourth child when our third was only 7 months old...it was a little scary, and quite a shock, since it took 5 years to conceive #3 :) I did continue to breastfeed my third through the entire fourth pregnancy, and was prepared to continue further and nurse both of them (I did a LOT of research, and had help from our local La Leche League)...however, Justin weaned himself about 3-4 DAYS before Matt was born when the milk changed over to colostrum (he didn't like the new taste!). You WILL be able to get through this - I thought having 2 so close together would be a nightmare, but it's been a blessing beyond belief! They are now 8 and 9, and still acting like *Twins*. Feel free to post any more questions, and we are here for you! :)

You can definetely continue ot nurse through your pregnancy and beyond! Definetely contact your local La Leche League- they will be a great source of info! Congrats and best of luck! I am sure it will be great!

I feel so bad for you. I wasn't even over the pregnancy at 4 months.

If you can control the vomiting you will feel better.

Don't eat two things at once untill you know one of the things is okay.

Here are some ideas:

Saltines.

Only eat 1/2 a cereal bowl or salad plate of food at once.

Try dry toast. Nothing else.

If that is okay try toast with the butter.

Milk and oj made me puke.

Frozen stuffed shells or frozen manicotti or frozen ravioli with jared tomato sauce. Lite on the sauce. (lite on the acid)

Not fresh from a restaurant sauce.

Canned cambel noodle soup.

Canned chicken or tuna. with or without mayo.

Not fresh chicken.

Everything has to be very fresh. Food cut up small digests faster so less likely to puke it up.

Pizza frozen or pizzeria - one slice only with water. Plain pizza.

Don't drink and eat at same time. Too much food makes you puke. Small meals with not too much fat.

I could eat ice cream bars. I could eat popcicles.

Brush you teeth and gargle after eatting anything. If you can't brush chew peppermint or spearmint gum. To get the disgusting taste out of mouth.

Try to walk everyday. Fresh air.
Try not to lay down after eatting. Try not to lay down too much.

Banana sliced super thin to make it digest super fast.

Chew everything as much as possible.

Keep a list of stuff you can eat.

Try one thing at a time. Don't eat pizza and fruit for example until you know the pizza is okay or the fruit is okay.

Peanut butter and jelly - lite on the jelly not too much peanut butter.

Some people swear by peanut butter for vomiting.

I couldn't eat cookies with sugar. Even the cookies that are bearly cookies with like stella dora.

pancakes. Don't eat too many.

Couldn't eat eggs.

Could eat cheese. Individually wrapped cheddar cheese. Or fresh out of the package cheese. FRESH only. Day one only.

Reject anything that could have any mold or fungas or turning or makes you sick looking at. Don't eat anything more than a hour old.

Some of my friends put me on the BRAT diet when I was so sick with #3 I lost 10lbs at first. (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) that is all I was supposed to eat, but I strayed from it and ended up staying sick for the whole first few months then one day it was gone. I was so happy!! My baby is 3 1/2 months and I couldn't imagine. (((hugs))) I do know that you can continue to BF while you are pregnant, like the previous posters have said, so good luck and you can do it!

Thanks, everyone. I was able to do some reflecting on Sunday, and I feel much better.
Thank you all for your support.
