My husband just called me a few minutes ago and told me that a friend of ours (not really friends anymore...different lifestyles, etc. but we still talk when we see each other a couple times a month) was found dead in her bed yesterday. She was 27-28 years old. Her son is pretty good friends with my dd, they are both in 4th grade.

The little boy got sick at school yesterday, and the school called his mother, but got no answer. So they called his grandmother. She came and got him and took him home, and they found his mother dead in her bed.

The guy she is/was living with at the time said she wanted him to put a movie in for her to watch before he left for work, so she was okay then.

They aren't sure if she slipped into a diabetic coma, or what, so they are sending her off for an autopsy for cause of death.

I am so broken hearted for this little boy right now. He has had kind of a rough life, not very stable. Rumor is, his father, who has really had nothing to do with him before, is wanting him. But I would say he will probably want to live with his mom's parents who have practically raised him.

Thanks guys, so much. I can't get her son out of my mind. The only thing that comforts me just a little is knowing that he was almost just as close to his grandparents, her parents, as he was her. That will help him so much.
