This just breaks my heart, but in all the chaos, can see how it would have happened. It would just break my heart to see a kid crying for its mom and mom isn't there!

Trying to reunite kids with parents

By Pamt on Monday, September 5, 2005 - 10:44 pm:

I worked in the NICU today and the social workers are working nonstop to try to find moms and dads of the babies that were evacuated from hospitals in New Orleans. We've received the babies, who were priority to be evacuated, and moms and dads were rescued later. Some parents have been sent to TX and other states and it is a monumental effort to find, match, and relocate families and their sick babies. I sure had fun rocking them today though. :)

Awwww, rocking is a tough job, but someone has to do it, huh? Finding parents I'm sure is a much tougher job, though.

I feel so bad for these children, its bad enough with all they have gone through but now not to be able to locate their parents:(

I've seen so many of these stories on TV this week, I cannot imagine the stress, worry and anxiety these kids and parents go through waiting to be reunited! The positive side of this is that they are safe!

By Nicki on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 12:33 pm:

It's so sad. I can't imagine, either.
I'm so glad there are caring people like Pam and others to look after these children until they can be reunited.
