I just got back from the doctor

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive August 2005: I just got back from the doctor
By Rayanne on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 02:29 pm:

I just got back from the doctors. She did an exam and said that everything felt fine and was closed. Then she did an internal ultrasound and all that we saw was the sack, and no heart beat. Of course, I lost it when I did not see a heart beat. She said that it might just be too early to see anything yet. She told me to relax and no more sex for a while, at least until my next appointment. She sent me to get blood drawn today to check my HCG Levels and I have to go again on Wednesday too. On Friday I am getting another ultrasound done again at a different place that has better machines. Hopefully they will see something. I am so scared and I can't stop crying. I go back to see my doctor on the 16th of September. They will do another ultrasound that day too. I just want everything to be ok.

By Yjja123 on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 02:31 pm:

I am praying that everything is OK!

(((Rayanne))) You are in my thoughts.

By Kernkate on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 02:42 pm:

{{{Big Hugs Sweetie}}}hug Don't get yourself all stressed, that will only make matters worse.
Just take it easy and do what the doctor says.

{{{HUGS}}} I am praying for you. Try not to worry to much, it will only put more stress on the baby. Just take it easy and be careful. I spotted with my last 2 pregnancies and they are 9 yr and 6 yr old now and the picture of health. I know saying "Don't worry so much" is easy for us but for you this is torture but just have faith that everyhthing will be OK. I will keep praying for you and your baby. Take care and do what the doctor says and rest.

By Amecmom on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 02:57 pm:

Hugs Rayanne. It may indeed be too early. I won't tell you not to worry or not to be stressed out, because you cant really control that. Just be prayerful and as calm as possible. You need to put on a good face for Rylee. You'll be in my prayers.
Ame

Rayanne, I also suspect that it is just too early for the heartbeat. When I was seeing the fertility doctor, he didn't have me come in until 7 weeks along to see the heartbeat. So that was about 4 weeks after I found out I was expecting. Please try not to stress too much about it. Did the bleeding stop? It is also a very good sign that everything felt fine during the exam. Hugs to you!

By Beth on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:08 pm:

This is exactly what happened with mine it was to early to "see" the baby ect... Now my dd is 4.5 years old. I hope this is just the same in your case. I know that week was the hardest time just waiting and not knowing. ((Hugs)).

By Cat on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:28 pm:

Hugs and prayers, Rayanne.

By Emily7 on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:39 pm:

You have gotten some great advice. Focus on Rylee & try to relax. I know that is easier said than done.
Hugs & prayers!

By Bellajoe on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:40 pm:

Try to relax sweetie! I know, easier said than done.
I will be praying for you and your little peanut in there. That really stinks that you have to wait so long to find out anything. Hang in there, i will be thinking of you!

By Jackie on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:40 pm:

I know its hard to relax, but that is the best thing. Sometimes, indeed, it is too early to see the heartbeat. How far along are you? I know many people who have gone in, and saw nothing, only to see a beating little heart the next week. One day at a time, I know its hard.

By Jilly on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 03:42 pm:

Thinking of you, Rayanne. Remember - you are really early in your pregnancy. If the doc says things look okay for the gestational age, then that's a good thing. I know there's nothing we can say to help ease your mind - but we're here for you.

Hope Wednesday and Friday come really quick for you!

By Kaye on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 04:30 pm:

hugs and prayers rayanne

By Missmudd on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 05:12 pm:

Rayanne I am thinking and praying for you and your little one along with everybody else. Sometimes the wonders of modern medicine only cause anxiety :). Try to relax, I am with everybody else that it is probably too soon to see a heartbeat. Hang in there.

I hope everything is fine. When I was 8 weeks they couldn't find Lauren's heartbeat with the machine, but seen it in the U/S. There are always times our heart jumps in our throat and I pray that everything will work out just fine for you. Please keep us posted we all care about each other here...you know that.

By Karen~moderator on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 08:38 pm:

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}} I know it's not easy, but try to keep the faith.

By Heaventree on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 08:48 pm:

Rayanne, I know it's scary and so very hard to wait and not worry, we are all praying for your and your little one. (((HUGS)))

By Jelygu on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 09:30 pm:

I agree that it might be too early for the heartbeat. I hope and pray everything is ok! (((HUGS)))

By Rayanne on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 09:38 pm:

I am 6 weeks right now. With Rylee, I didn't see the heartbeat until I was 8 weeks. I am trying my best to stay positive, but it's not easy.
Yes, the bleeding has stopped, but the tears haven't. I am just so worried. I just took a nap to ease my mind, and I feel a little better. I am trying my best to relax and stay calm, especially for Rylee. She knows something is up, I think.
When I was getting the ultrasound done, Chris was on my side so the Rylee couldn't see anything and she said, "Mommy, good girl" We all had a laugh. She is my sunshine and my joy and Chris is being my strength. I love my family with all of my heart, body, and soul.

By Dawnk777 on Monday, August 29, 2005 - 11:52 pm:

I found a webpage that you can only hear the heartbeat at the earliest, at 8 weeks, but more usually 10-12 weeks.

Hearing the Beat

By Jann on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 - 06:36 am:

6 weeks is really early to hear the heart beat. Heck, before EPT tests, you didn't even know you were pregnant till almost 8 weeks!!
Keep positive thoughts!

By Jackie on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 - 07:19 am:

I dont think she was worried about not hearing the heartbeat, but she couldnt "See" the heartbeat. You can see the heartbeat on ultrasounds much earlier then you can hear with a doppler.

By Jann on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 - 07:30 am:

I still think she should try to keep positive thoughts, especially if she didn't see Rylee's heart beat till 8 weeks.

By Eve on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 - 07:49 am:

((HUG)) Rayanne, hang in there. They can usually pick up the HB (See it beating) anywhere from 5-7 weeks. I wouldn't worry yet. You'll be in my prayers. +~+~ Sticky baby vibes ~+~+
