Whats the best vacuum to have when you have LOTS of pethair? Our new dog sheds terribly. Im vacuuming at least 3 times a day. We have a dirt devil now. It seems to do an ok job, but I know there is something better out there.

We have 3 cats and 1 dog and I have to say that my current Dyson Animal dc-14 (purple model) is the best vacuum I have ever had. I had an Oreck and when we got the Dyson, I vacuumed the family room really well with the oreck and then went right over it with the Dyson and was AMAZED at what it got out. It had a very long cord and I can vacuum the entire downstairs (carpet, hard wood and vinyl) without haveing to plug it into a different outlet. Love my Dyson!!

People on my dog board really LOVE their Dysons! LOL! It makes me want one!

I have an upright Simplicity 700 Series. It is great on the floors but the attachments aren't very good for furniture.

How is the Dyson for furniture? Does it come with attachments? Are they easy to use?

Oh my goodnes. Dysons are so much money. The cheapest I saw one for is 420$ WOWIE, the had some for over 500$. I need something that works well on carpets and furniture.

I saw a purple dyson on Ebay just now for $317 and shipping was $40 or something in that range.
Those sound heavenly!!

Oh I so want that purple one. I think its called the animal. A girl I knew in 29 had one and absolutely loved it. I plan on getting one by this time next year, we should be caught back up by then....sigh!

Check out Target. I know they carry dyson, but I'm not sure which ones. And if you decide to buy from there let me know and I'll go with you so you can save 10%.

The Dyson that I have does have on board attachments that are sooo easy to use. If you go to the Dyson website, they tell you all about them and I think you can even see little clips about how different things work. I didn't pay as much for mine as they are saying on the website though. I got mine at Sears when they were on sale. I wanted to get it locally so if I wasn't impressed with it, it would be very easy to return and get my money back! This is mine:

Oh for got to say, yes it is very good on furniture as well. The attachments have the same suction as the vacuum part does. With 3 cats and a dog, removing pet hair was my top priority!
