2005 State Sales Tax Holidays

No Holiday for Pennsylvania:( Darn!

Oregon has no sales tax :), unfortunately we do have income and property taxes :(

Someone put the whole tax holiday in perspective for me once. If you have a 7% sales tax, you're only saving $7 per $100. Granted, I'm ALL for saving, but I can find that kind of savings during a good sale without battling the CRAZY crowds usually seen on the tax holiday. (At least it's crazy in TX!!) Ask me again in a few years if I'd changed my mind!! LOL

Plenty of it here in LA, but as expected, no tax holiday here...

Never heard of a tax holiday, so I guess none here in Indiana.

We don't have provincial sales tax here in Alberta but we do have GST (federal). However, you never pay GST on school supplies or children's clothing anyway (I think :) )

We have a sales tax holiday here in FL. I haven't gone since the first year though b/c it's CRAZY time at all of the stores! LOL Since I homeschool I don't have to rush out for suppies anyways. The 7% saving wasn't worth the mad house to get the stuff. I just wait a couple of weeks & shop the clearance rack! LOL

I live in Texas, and everybody seemed to be taking it in stride. The crowds weren't bad at all in the usually crowded malls in our area, etc. Saving 8.25% percent, PLUS all the great sales they had paid off for us - but I only had one to shop for this time around.

The trick is to only buy what you normally would buy this time of year anyway, and not go overboard.
