Dinner at Epcot?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive August 2005: Dinner at Epcot?

I will be @ Epcot next week and wondering about the places to eat. Last year we watched the fireworks at a fish & chip place (can't remember the name). I was wondering what other places are great for dinner? Has anyone ever eaten at the Coral Reef (?) in the Living Sea area? Checking out their website, looks like a good steak place in Canada. I will be with DH and DD(8) and Son (14)

We ate at Morrocco, Italy, Mexico, and Japan the last time we were there. They were all really good, but two I remember the most are Mexico and Morrocco. I remember Mexico for the decoration and Morrocco for the food. Oh, I do remember in Italy the wait-staff sang songs in Italian and that was really neat.

Have lots of fun at Epcot!

One of our favorites is in Mexico. Where you eat inside and it's like sitting in a little town at night. It's nice and cool and there is a little shopping inside too.

We ate at Germany at the Biergarten. I didn't like the food and the kids ate nothing! I don't recommend it, unless of course you have had German food and know that you like it!

Morocco and Mexico are wonderful! If you're doing a family thing, the Garden Grill is delicious and really cool because you meet characters throughout the meal. It's family style with kid-friendly foods.

We ate at Akershus, quite by accident. DH called the front desk of our hotel last minute and asked if there were any restaurants with priority seating left. I didn't think we would like it, but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience! LOL! All of us liked it, including my parents.

Norway: Restaurant Akershus
This restaurant is fashioned after the Norwegian castle of Akershus that dominates Oslo's harbor in Norway and can be located to the right of the Norway pavilion. Guests may dine on a version of a Royal Norwegian buffet known as "koldbord". Offerings include; meatballs, lamb with cabbage, both hot and cold meats and seafood, a selection of salads & cheeses, scrambled eggs, peel and eat shrimp, macaroni & cheese, and more. Norwegian desserts are also available for an extra charge. The stone walls and tile floors, chandeliers, leaded glass windows with quaint lace curtains all give a European touch to this dining atmosphere. The wait staff will eagerly engage in conversation and answer any questions you might have about Norway and its culture. Open for lunch and dinner with priority seating strongly recommended. A children's menu with more familiar American favorites is available.

I love having dinner at Les Chefs de France and watching the human statue, just like those you see in Paris. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere elegant. The American Pavilion is where we go for lunch. Nothing beats a good old burger.

Le Cellier in Canada always gets rave reviews on the Dis boards. We're eating there this month.

Le Cellier in Canada is really good. We ate there a few years ago. I also like the place in Mexico. I have never eaten at the Coral Reef, but have heard mixed reviews about it on the Dis boards.

Coral Reef in the Living Sea area is
the best place we have eatten. It is a beautiful room and you sit opposite the aquarium (whole wall is aquarium.)
The food was fish and like potato and veg. Nothing fancy. But they didn't ruin the fish.

I have only tried
the med place with belly dancing (okay)

italian (Yuck) I ordered a meat dish. Probably should
have stuck with spagetti and meatballs or something simple.
It was a fun restaurant.

french (yuck) I forget what I had but it tasted like it had been sitting around awhile. Pretty restaurant.

Most of the food at epcot taste like they pre make it and it sits around a while waiting for someone to order it and then they put it in the microwave and serve it.

Now, isn't it cruel to eat fish right by an aquarium? Those poor fishies could look over and see cousin Fred on your plate.
I saw a comedien once that did a bit on this. He said soemthing like "two fish are next to each other talking about how they could be next on the plate. and the one said 'George, i hope that never happens to us...george? GEORGE!!!!" :) LOL
