I posted on the prayer board but I just wanted to let everyone to know that please watch your children while in shopping carts. I have done this a millon times. put one in the front and let one stand in the back. well my 3 year old cousin fell out on the back of his head and they took him to the hospital to release him and they told just to keep and eye on him this was Sunday well Tuesday he started having a headache she gave him some medicine and he was fine off and on all day well Wednesday she noticed a orange size knot on the back of his head so they rushed him back up to the hospital they did a cat scan and found that he cracked his skull and he had some bleeding they flighted him to a bigger hospital we don't know anything as of yet but my Mom is calling up there this evening. to scary. our wal-mart where it happen only has maybe four of the carts to use if you have more than on kid. and you can never find them. it is just heart breaking. will post more when we hear more

Oh, that is just terrible. I'll definitely be praying for your poor nephew. I don't let my kids stand in the back of the cart but sooo many people do. Please keep us updated.

Yes, I agree. More needs to be done to inform parents that this is not safe. Unfortunately, when ds was little, dh got him into wanting to ride in the basket instead of the seat.

Best wishes and prayers.

I don't let my kids stand in the basket of the cart. But i have seen way to many people who do.

I will pray for your nephew. That is just a terrible accident.

I heard from my mom and he is going to be fine. they sent him home yesterday. they told his parents that where the fracture is and were it is bleeding is not causing harm to him. They told them that they wanted ultra sounds done once a week to see if the skull fuses back together properly. Poor little guy was more worried about his Dad then him. He couldnt figure out how come his Daddy was crying. I hope to get to see him this weekend. Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts

Stores really need more buggys that hold more than one child. They have maybe 2 or 3 at our walmart. Not too long ago, my 4 yr old was sitting in the back, the baby in front. Well my 4 yr old leaned over the side and the buggy fell over. Scared me to death! But luckly everyone was o.k. I am so glad he is doing better.

I made a horrible shopping cart mistake last year. We were at Costco---huge carts---and I let my son ride on the bottom. He told me he wanted out but before the message got to my brain and I stopped, he started to get out. I ended up rolling over his thumb. As you can guess, the cart was quite heavy. He was screaming, blood was everywhere. We got him to the first aid station and got him cleaned up. Then one of the cashiers said, "This is why we advise people not to let their kids ride in carts." I could have strangled her right then and there! Like I really needed that right then. I was feeling bad enough.

We took him to the doctor and it wasn't broke, thank goodness. The nail did eventually fall off though.
