Could hit 100 on Sunday

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive July 2005: Could hit 100 on Sunday
By Dawnk777 on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 01:23 am:

A strong westerly flow will pump hot and humid air from the plains into south-central and southeast Wisconsin on Sunday. The combination of expected high temperatures in the 95 to 100 degree range... with dew points in the lower 70s... will cause heat index readings to peak around 105 degrees.

Ugh. I hate hot weather. At least it's only going to be one day! When is fall coming? I live in Wisconsin, by the way!

By Crystal915 on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 02:54 am:

Oh, we've been in the 100s this week. Today's heat index was 112, actualy temp 105 or so. It was rotten, and is supposed to continue. :( Stay indoors with the AC!

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 08:55 am:

Here too - we are having heat index from 105 upward.

By Marcia on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 09:29 am:

It's been like that here since mid June. We've only had the odd day where there isn't a heat and smog advisory. I'm in Ontario!

By Beth on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 09:34 am:

Us too. I plan to go swimming!

By Happynerdmom on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 10:57 am:

That is hot for Wisconsin!! Don't you usually need a jacket for the 4th of July?! (Jk, well, only half kidding, LOL!) Just remember all that snow you got last winter, Dawn...

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 01:57 pm:

Marcia, it's been really hot by you? We are going to Niagara Falls next week. I hope it isn't too hot! LOL!

By Tink on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 02:25 pm:

We hit 112 last week while I was on the coast. I have no idea what the heat index was but I cannot imagine trying to function in that kind of heat. All we eat is cold cereal and salads on those days and veg in front of the tv or jump in the pool. It's just miserable.

By Marcia on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 02:55 pm:

Yes Dawn, it's been insanely hot this year. Also, we always have major humidity. You'll be a bit cooler by the falls, because there's always a mist blowing in the air. It's a nice relief.
Go to weather.ca, and type in Niagara Falls.
Actually, let's see if this works...

By Jelygu on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 03:13 pm:

Oh yeah, hot and humid today in Alabama. Heat index is 113 today, and will be the same all weekend. Too hot to move!

By Mommmie on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 05:00 pm:

Horrible here, too. We have a bad air quality warning, too. It gives me a headache, even inside.

By Debbie on Saturday, July 23, 2005 - 08:02 pm:

We have been hot and dry here(Northwest of Chicago) and I am loving it. Reminds me of Texas summers. We are suppose to hit 100 tomorrow too! If it does, it will be the first time in 6 years. It has been in the 90's several times this summer. We have enjoyed swimming! We only got to swim 4 times last summer, it was just way too cold most days.

These don't sound to bad to me! I just hope it really isn't dreadfully hot! We will be there sometime on Thursday, and all day Friday/Saturday/Sunday/leave on Monday.

snow

How about this one? I need to think about snow. Even with AC, I'm still HOT!

By Dawnk777 on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 01:09 am:

We got up to 97, on our thermometer, before the temps started going down. It's 77 out there now, which is still pretty warm, for this time of night, but it feels so much better than 97! Tomorrow, only in the 80's, thank goodness!

By Karen~moderator on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 07:34 am:

Part of the interstate in Slidell, which is east of New Orleans, buckled from the heat this weekend. Apparently, they say this happens nearly every year.

By Dawnk777 on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 07:37 am:

Yikes! What a nuisance!

By Kim on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 08:25 am:

our index today is supposed to be 115. bleck

By Babysitbarb on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 03:21 pm:

Ok girls, lets not push it on the snow. LOL!
I hate the real hot weather and Im not much of a snow person. Give me some good old 65-75 and Im a happy camper. It's like 84 here in Indiana but, with the heat index it's suppose to be a 100 or more.

By Kernkate on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 04:10 pm:

Its 90 here today, but the humidity is just nasty!

By Dawnk777 on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 10:32 pm:

What, Barb?? You don't like my snow picture? ROFL! (just yanking your chain!) We got up to 89, but it just wasn't as nasty as yesterday's muggy 97!

Storming now and supposed to be cooler tomorrow!

By Karen~moderator on Monday, July 25, 2005 - 11:32 pm:

It is 10:30 PM CST here and our current temp is 83 degrees with a *feels like* temp of 90 degrees.... I just went outside to try to get the dog in and it feels like the humidity is just as high. UGH! The air feels so hot and thick, you could chew it - as I believe Pamt mentoned a couple years ago! LOL

All I can say is Thank Goodness for my AC!!!!! It is set on 73 right now and I am comfortable! I will probably run it down to 72 before I go to bed to help combat the dreaded menopausal night sweats, since there is no one here to complain about being cold tonight! LOL
