We went camping in northern Vermont earlier this week for a few days. My mother has a friend, whom I'd never met, that has a log home on the same pond the campground was located at. She came to the campground looking for me and offered up her private beach, her kayaks and canoes, beverages, her grill, etc. etc. for our use regardless of whether she was home or not - and this is a standing invite, if we ever go up there again we can use her stuff. She was very gracious. We had a wonderful time and I'd like to send her a thank you gift along w/the thank you note. I really don't know her so I am having a little trouble with this. I do know she is very interested in Loons (there are a pair and a chick on this pond) and other nature type things.

How about a gift basket of gourmet staples (preserves, pate, crackers, etc.)she can keep at the cabin - so she can always have a yummy snack on hand while she watches the birds?
