Ovarian Cysts???

I know that I have asked about this on here before. I am just wondering what different kind of treatment options you have explored. I have been on the pill again going on 4 months. Let me just say I don't need the pill my husband had the big v and I really hate being on the pill. The first two months no problems. Last month I know that the cysts must have come back because I felt them. I called the doctor and she said the pill would only make it better and it could take 6 months to a year to cure it. I was thinking six months to a year I will be a nutcase by then. Anyway I am due to start again and the pain is so bad It's worse then child birth was for me. I am one of those people that tolerates pain well and thought having babies was not that bad. This is my worst nightmare. If they asked me if I wanted a hysterctomy tommorrow I would say yes! Anyway I guess my real question is has anyone had luck with the pill eventually helping? Anything else help? I am under the understanding that mine are small and come and go each month so I don't think they could actually surgically remove the cysts. I am hyped on drugs right now so it has gotten better. I guess I just need to learn to take it at the first sign before it gets so bad. I am also one of those people that hates medication. I know I am hopeless! LOL!

I have ovarian cysts and will be going in for my 3rd US next month. No treatment thus far other than Motrin. They hurt and are annoying but not enough to slow me down (very much). Neither doctor (my OB/GYN and the X-ray MD) has suggested the pill. Even if they had I would have said, "No." My body does not handle hormonal BC well at all so I can certainly relate! Headaches, mood swings, depression and total loss of libido... NO thanks, which is exactly why DH had a V! LOL! Both doctors prescribed an US every 2-3 cycles over a 6-9 mos. period to closely monitor them. They are watching one in particular. Although small, it hasn't gone away and is of "proteinous" substance. If I understood them correctly, if it's not gone by my next US I will be scheduled for surgery to remove it. Apparently it's not a big deal these days. They go through the belly button. After 2 c-sections I'm not worried about it. LOL!

No, you're not hopeless! {{{HUGS}}}

The doc can do a needle aspiration vaginally. It's certainly no fun, but it doesn't take long.
I've had a couple of laparoscopies, which is what you're talking about, Trina, and was back to work in a couple of days. I just had to avoid lifting for a couple of weeks. It's just a 2 stitch deal.
