Vitamix anyone?????????

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive July 2005: Vitamix anyone?????????

I am looking for a powerful blender! What blender do y'all use and do you like it?

I like the Vitamix. It is the one Starbucks and Jamba Juice uses. The Total Blender is one I like as well.

Any advice?

I have a vitamix, and I love it!! It could grind a steak into a thin liquid. It comes with a recipe book, and you can make so much with it.
I bought it because one of my kids was fed through a g-tube, and I could feed her whatever we were eating. Nothing else could compare for what I needed it for.
I make lots of soups in it, and we all love them. I can sneak so many extra veggies in, and the kids have no idea. I also use it to make any over ripe fruit into flavoured apple sauce.
Other than the high price, I have nothing negative to say about it.

We just bought a Kitchen Aid about a month ago and LOVE it. It is so quiet when you are using it and blends everything really well.

Can you make almond milk with the Kitchen Aid?

Marcia- what is a good price on a Vitamix?

Online, I think they were about $450.00??

Costco is going to have them in a few weeks and I think I will get one then.

Andi- can you blend steak in your Kitchen Aid? If so, I may just get that one?

I bought a reconditioned Vitamix, because they offer deals to people with g-tubes. I still paid about $300. It came with a 7 year warranty. I've seen them at Costco a lot, but I'm not sure what the price was.

Not sure about the Almond Milk and Steak...we use ours to make smoothies and on occasion Margaritas. :) LOL It's a pretty powerful blender so I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle what you need it to do. I am very happy with it!

Here is the one we have:

I have a Magic Bullet that can do steak! It is the best little machine. I make Helen's food with it.

Ame-
how much food would you say you can blend up in it?
