I was looking for inspiration for Matt's new bedroom and I came across this site:

http://www.mymoondrops.com/kids/smilze.html

Check it out! This stuff is amazing, obviously I can't afford to buy any of it, but it has given me tons of ideas.

Just wanted to share.

Really neat ideas, our bedrooms wouldn't be big enough for some of those things:)
But it does give you ideas.

Our DS will be 9 this month. When we redid the kids rooms after moving last July we budgeted our amount & went wild with ideas. Our sons room was turned into a workshop with a leading tool manufacturer's workbench as his dresser, construction tape for a wallborder, house blue prints on the walls, orange safety cones, gray rubber shop mats & a bed frame from pvc pipe. My DH & DS love the room. My DD room was just as frilly the other direction.

Kate,

What a great idea, Matt seems to love anything mechanical. He turns everything upside down and tries to take it apart. He also loves things that make noise. DH was drilling something the other day and now Matt imitates that noise all of the time. It drives me crazy :).

He also loves animals especially cats and fish. I really like a global feel to the bedroom with world maps and ships. It's hard to know what a 16 month old will like.

So I'm not sure which theme has the most longevity. His bedroom is at the top of the stairs and can be seen a bit from the dining room so it will have to be fairly neutral in colour.

I really like your workshop idea and I think DH will like it too.

Kate, you should post pictures of your DS's room. I would love to see it!!!

Thanks...I'll try to see if I can get my computer savvy DH to help his semi-computer savvy DW to get them on there. :) Oh, DH also ran spotlights on the ceiling, too. :)

Check this site out for some cool ideas. We used the Lizzie McGuire theme, and it looks amazing!!

I am doing Brendan's room in a drama/music theme... MIL is bringing up his stage on the 15th. I don't know who is more excited? Brendan, grandma, or me!!
