Hey Bloggers - legal issues

There is a foundation, Electronic Frontier Foundation, which has just released an on-line, free "Legal Guide for Bloggers", found at www.eff.org/bloggers/lg

The Foundation, in conjunction with law clinics at several well-known, reputable universities, has put together information about "chilling effects", that is when someone sends you a lawyer letter because they object to something you have put in your blog. www.chillingeffects.org

I recommend both of these sites to anyone who maintains a blog

Yeah, there have been quite a few incidences of people being fired for what they write in their blogs. You definitely have to be careful since they can be read by anyone. Thanks for the info.

Thank you Ginny.

I don't write anything that incriminating in mine. It's mostly about the weather! LOL!

Thank you, Ginny. The blogging community has been in an uproar over several legal issues lately. Along with firings for what was written, people are now stealing bloggers' family photos and committing plagerism by passing off others' writing as their own. I think the legal issues surrounding blogging will get very interesting in the next few years.
