Anyone heard of this timeshare? Maybe some of you own or don't own but have stayed at one. What has your experience been?

We have stayed at 2 Westgate properties, both in Orlando. The first stay was about 8 years ago right after dh and I got married. We stayed with some friends, who had purchased a week. It was a great stay. We had a 2 bedroom villa. It was clean, well kept, great pool, etc. Then we stayed again 2 years ago at another Westgate property in Orlando. Never again is all I can say. It was a totally different experience. The property was worn down, and not well taken care of. The carpets were severly stained, mold in all the grout. There were things like lights, doors, etc that were broken. We called the desk as soon as we checked in and they made us wait around for 2 hours for maintance to fix them. They were also letting bus loads of teens stay there for grads nights at Disneyworld. They were LOUD all night long. We called security several times and they did nothing. The funny part was that we were staying at a cheap rate because we agreed to do the timeshare presentation. I told the girl when she first started her sales pitch that she could forget it because I would never buy there because of our experience. She then tried to tell me that we were staying on the side of the resort that they use more as a hotel and that the owners section was much better?? I told her that I didn't get why they would put us in the worn down section if they were trying to get us to buy. We actually went with an open mind, thinking we might buy in based on our first experience. After I told her all the problems we had she just let us leave, even though we were required to sit through the full 90 minutes sales pitch.

We've had the same experience as Debbie. I can't remember the name of the one we stayed at in Orlando but it was like 15 minutes from all of the attrations and was gorgeous. We had such a good time. We had a huge place. There were two bedrooms plus a pull out couch, a full kitchen and dining room. Then there was an attached mother-in-law suite.

We also stayed at one in Connecticut and it was just as nice though the concierge had a bit to be desired. Once I called him on it though, they took care of evertyhing.

There is also Ocean Villas in Ocean City, MD and this one is a little bit more run down. Not terrible but it's just not the same as the others we stayed at.

Good luck. Most of the time, they are really very accomodating because they want you to buy their properties. However, some of them can be pretty cheap about it.

I'm pretty usre the Villas I stayed in after my wedding to my ex-husband were Westgate. They had 3 buildings of villas, some were rental and some were timeshare. They were really nice, I really enjoyed it.

Funny to be reading this.... I've received mail from this place twice about their properties - I think I trashed it though....
