So what is everyone's plans for the upcoming holiday weekend?
We have a graduation party on Sunday then to my cousins to watch some fireworks, on the 4th we might just cookout and relax. The weather is suppose to continue to be very hot and humid.

We plan on driving the rv to the casino on the 3rd and watch the fireworks (they have them on the 3rd instead of the 4th to not compete w/ the city), that way we have a front row seat over the bay and if the kids get tired or bored they have someplace to be. Then on the 4th, some sort of bbq and then set off some fireworks at home :)

Well the 2nd and 3rd we are having quarter midget races and the 4th i will probably have to work so we probably won't do too much = ) as usual...

The 2nd we are having a birthday party for my ds, my dn, and my dh's grandfather. Their birthdays are so close we thought we would have a cook out and birthday party. On the 4th we are going to the parade and then there is going to be a dedication for a memorial for war veteran's and I had a brick put in it for my grandfather and it will be a big surprise for him.

We'll go down town. As a city commissioner I always show the flag on holidays like this. I'll stroll around the vendors and kids rides.

Everyone is invited to the Virginia Peninsula's biggest Fourth of July party - Fourth of July, Stars in the Sky, on the Downtown Superblock. This huge downtown oasis is filled with 30,000 people each year who come to celebrate our nation's birthday. The evening begins as crowds gather to munch on dinner hot off a food vendor's grill, and kids jump on the moonwalk. As dusk approaches, the stage comes alive with the music of Sandi Patty.....nationally known entertainer. At the last note from the concert ends, the sky over the James River explodes with a kaleidoscope of color in a spectacular fireworks show.

Just hanging out around home. On the 4th, we will get up and go to the parade, with our friends, then eat lunch somewhere. We reconvene later in the day to eat at someone's house and then go down to the lakefront to wait for dark and fireworks.

By Tink on Monday, June 27, 2005 - 07:18 pm:

My youngest was supposed to be a July 4th baby, born on the 2nd. We celebrate on the 4th for her, at least until she's in school. We have a big family party anyway and it's easy to just have cake and presents at the same time. She still thinks that all the fireworks are for her and we haven't done much to convince her otherwise. So we'll go to our city's parade (the dks are in it most years), then go to the celebration in our largest park, home for a nap, then BBQ, swim and celebrate Bella's birthday. It is always a busy day for us.

We are having a family reunion this weekend.

Friday all my brothers and sisters are coming into town with their famiies. Saturday we are going on a boat ride down the river and then Sunday we are having a picnic. Everyone plans on leaving Monday so they can go back to work on Tuesday.

I am sure we will see fireworks somewhere on Monday.

Landscaping and fireworks! Maybe a cookout.

By Insaneusmcwife on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 - 12:41 pm:

I'll be on my way to Virginia :) We are going to stop in Texas for a few days and probably take the kids to the lake to watch the fireworks.

By Crystal915 on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 - 05:43 pm:

My brothers-in-law are both going to be here, so we'll probably go to the celebration on post. It'll be the kids' first real fireworks show, this should be interesting!!

By Annie2 on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 - 06:00 pm:

We'll be in Boston visiting friends and family. I think we are BBQing in the afternoon then seeing the fireworks in town that night.
