What would your door look like?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive June 2005: What would your door look like?

I am a part of a woman's group that meets once a week and we give each other "assignments" each week. Last weeks assignment was that one of the women gave each of us a skeleton key and said to draw the door that the key opens and tell what is behind the door. What would your door look like? One woman drew a beautiful set of french doors that would open up to a beautiful office where she would write children's books. The door was on a French countryside somewhere. I couldn't think of what my door would look like and what would be behind it. I guess that means I don't know where I want my future to go?

Today my door would be made of chocolate. I would open it up to a room full of chocolate.

nuff said.

Mine would open into a padded room, where they would make sure I was warm and fed and there would be no kids going crazy because of summer vacation ;)

My would be pretty battered & chipped, between the kids & my DSL/cable I am pretty beat up.

Mine would be a white wooden door with large windows and open out onto a deck just above the sand and seagrass, a short walk from the ocean! 'nuff said here too!

Karen, I would like one like yours. :)

Mine would be a French door style as well, only with big windows to let in the beautiful sunshine. It would open up to a house full of beautiful, grateful young children and a Mom who looks like she came off of Desperate Housewives (looks-wise). I would also have a big open office area with books anywhere from the study of pharmacology to poems, short stories and memorable stories such as those from Shakespeare. You would also see in my house, a wine cellar with ancient wines from all over the world.

(Now i'm dreaming....... :) )

with lives changing around here, son buying rental investments and daughter graduating from hi school and starting college im loosing weight..so id be between two doors. one closing and one opening up. the new door would be the begining of a new life. my kids are grown and life is going to be so much different. so this new door would be white and have some gold trim. life on the other side will be bright and colorful and mysterious. excitement will encompass as new things are tried.

Likely be a cheap hollow thing with some dents, several coats of paint, decorated with kid's scribbles and stickers. And I'd love it.

Marcia, want to join me at the beach? LOL! Seriously, that is my dream, to live ON the beach somewhere. Like THAT will ever happen! ROFL Real estate prices and insurance will forever be out of MY reach in those areas.

Mine would definitely open up the smell of vanilla because cookies are baking, the sound of children's neverending giggles, the feel of soft cotton on your feet, and the sight of a beautiful mountain top with trees!!!

WOW Marcia, GREAT house! I would never post pics of my dumpy house here! LOL I would love to live on the beach, not with a beach view, but right ON the beach. The places we have vacationed are ON the beach and you have boardwalks right onto the sand. That would be my ultimate dream!

No Sandy beaches where we live, but that grass and water is his front yard. He's on the bay of one of Ontario's many lakes.

I like this idea....I am going to give it some thought and maybe even make a graphic to go along!

The door I dreamt as having for as long back as I can remember:

Big knob, big door made of heavy wood, beautiful beveled (sp?) edge glass. Never locked, always opening and closing w/ all the neighborhood kids coming and going from morning to night. You can guess what the house inside would have to look like with that traffic.

The door we have doesn't look like that but we do manage to have kids coming and going much of the time. I love it!

For those looking for a beach front door, my dad has his house online and boy what a beachview it has (and airstrip view!). He is looking to sell :(. As a young teen I hated this place cause it was so boring, as an adult I absolutely LOVE IT! If only we could afford to keep it in the family.

Dana, that airstrip is still used??????

By Dana on Monday, June 20, 2005 - 11:06 am:

Yep, daily and often. Cedar Key is loaded w/ resturants and people travel down all the time just to eat. Many of the people who live there, esp on that island have their own plane.
