I need some creative ideas

My DH is turning 30 this year. His birthday isn't until December, but I want to make it special and unforgettable. I don't want to travel anywhere, because we can't afford that. I want it to be somewhat of a surprise, but I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well it's not creative but DH LOVED it, I had a surprise party for him. This was before we had children so it was easy to plan. I bought his favorite Mexican Food and a Keg of beer. We all had a wonderful time and he said it was the best Birthday ever because all of his friends and family were there.

Rayanne, do a keyword search, others have posted in the past about 30th b'day parties. Check the Gen. Disc. archives.

I see you are a scrapper. Send friends and loved ones each a 12x12 page and ask them to decorate it with pictures/memories/birthday wishes etc. Include and envelope and ask them to mail it back to you. Assemble all the pages in a scrapbook. It will be a wonderful, special keepsake for him.

It's not really creative, but I had a surprise party for dh too when he turned 30. (No kids yet though) It was just for family and friends at our home. I decorated and he had a cake...everyone brought a gag gift or nothing at all. It was fun. I'm thinking if he was just turning 30 now(and all of our friends have little ones now) we would still do the same thing. It wasn't a booze thing because we don't drink anyway.Good luck!

A surprise party is a nice idea. Or maybe a small surprise party at a restaurant. Take him out to dinner and surprise him with a bunch of friends being there to celebrate.

BTW i just saw Rylee's pic in your profile. ADORABLE!

Surprise party and if you don't do a scrapbook, at least have people send in letters and pictures of stories and memories. We didn't do anything for our 30th bdays, but I plan on doing something big for DH's 40th. I should graduate with my Ph.D. a week before I turn 40, so I told DH I am *expecting* a big birthday/graduation blowout--LOL :)
