Annie2 what are you going to do? I am waiting for the next update not sure where we stand because we live surrounded by water. This is making me anxious! Any other moms in the Panhandle or AL? There is nowhere for the water to go here. The last few rains have mde us flood for weeks.

Karen, give me a call if you can, I sent you an email with my number.

By Kernkate on Friday, June 10, 2005 - 05:11 pm:

Hope everyone is safe with Arlene coming in. I will be thinking of all of you praying everyone is safe.
I am in PA and my biggest thing we have to worry about here this time of year is thunderstorms.
I would be a nervous wreck in FL.
Best of luck and stay safe .

Kim, are you going to your Mom's or leaving the area or what???

By Jelygu on Friday, June 10, 2005 - 05:43 pm:

I hope everyone is safe. I live in north AL, so we will get some rain, and maybe some storms.

By Annie2 on Friday, June 10, 2005 - 07:01 pm:

We're staying in the house. So far, the storm is still a TS with the possibility of it turning into a Cat 1. I did buy some bottles of water, filled van's tank with gas, withdrew cash from the bank and dh filled portable gas cans with gas for our generator which we bought right after Ivan.
Many people are concerned because of last Sept but I don't think this storm will bring us any more damage than heavy rain and cabin fever with the kids!
I do hope you are safe, Kim. Are you leaving or staying put?

By Rayanne on Friday, June 10, 2005 - 11:12 pm:

We cleaned out our guest bedroom closet, in case we need it due to a Tornado. I hate this time of year. I am seriuosly freaking out right now.

By Kim on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 12:31 am:

Well, so far the kids and I have just moved over into my Mom's house and we will take it from there. The have the generator, water, extra food, etc. Karen, we will know tomorrow if we are going anywhere. I am guessing if it moves into any kind of category my Mom will want to go somewhere else. She is just that way. The bad thing is that we are flooding just from regular storms...so bad that we get stuck in our neighborhoods! Annie, have you been flooding? There are a lot of sink holes here also, BIG ONES. I am anxious because it seems to be gaining strength and we have a way to go before landfall. Hopefully it will just be a lot of rain. I also saw though that there are two systems right after this one that are supposed to be worse!

Thanks Kathy and Jennifer! A lot of people here just got their houses finished and if I was them I would be a wreck right now too! Rayanne, I always forget where you are.

Karen, if we do go it will probably be to Jacksonville if possible because my parents want to move there. If not possible I don't know where!

Good luck, everyone, who will be affected by Arlene. My daughter is leaving for Kentucky tomorrow. I suppose this means they will have rain next week. She is going on a mission trip to help fix up peoples' houses. I hope her weather isn't too bad. Looks like chances of thunderstorms everyday. However, all week, we have had chances of thunderstorms, too, and it hasn't rained a drop by us, yet. Well, it will be an adventure, whatever happens!

How is everyone doing in the storms path today? I just talked to my cousin in Ft. Myers and she said she is getting alot of rain.

By Rayanne on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 08:55 am:

We just got a lot of rain last night. It wasn't too bad.

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 10:06 am:

Kathy, we will be flying into Fort Myers on July 9, going to Sanibel with my sister. I didn't know you had family there.

By Kernkate on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 10:51 am:

Yes Karen, My Uncle had bought land way before it was developed and my cousins have a home there. A matter of fact my Uncle sold land there so they could expand the airport at one time.
I keep saying we are going to visit but something ALWAYS comes up!

By Karefl on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 10:52 am:

Thinking of everyone in the path today! We're all still such a mess from last year! I know that there are still tarps everywhere here in Central Florida! Lots of rain here today, but not bad wind or anything!

By Annie2 on Saturday, June 11, 2005 - 08:20 pm:

We had alot of rain but it wasn't windy at all. No flooding in our area today, either.

Hope everyone else did as well. :)
