I have lived in Oregon all my life, have spent alot of times in the woods and have never seen a bear except at the zoo, and once way off in the distance. As I was driving home last night about 5 miles from my house I came around a corner and a BEAR ran out in front of my van!!! A big black BEAR!!! Scared the bajezzus out of me lol.

I can't even imagine!! I would freak if I almost hit a bear and freak even more if one visited my yard!!!

I'd definitely freak! LOL The most we ever have are armadillos or possums in the road........unless you live in one of the *swampy* areas of the state, then you could encounter an alligator.........

Wow, that's one I never thought of!! I grew up with lots of deer, and then in TX Nate almost hit a longhorn one night, but bears?? Glad you are ok!

We have lots of bears around here too. You can never be TOO careful around bears. This tragic accident happened in Alberta this past weekend:
