Great week!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive June 2005: Great week!!
By Conni on Friday, June 3, 2005 - 04:03 pm:

I always enjoy the first week of June. It is a big week for my dh's work and they have all sorts of activities going on leading up to a mtg on friday.

Wednesday night they held a concert that we went too- Will Smith, Brad Paisley, and Sara Evans. They were all good. Brad was my favorite.

Thursday night another concert- Shakira (yuk!), Jessie McCartney (ok if you are a teenie bopper), and JIMMY BUFFET!!! Thats right one of my life long dreams has been to see Jimmy Buffet. I got to see him last night and it was so awesome!!! I always thought I'd be on a beach and have a Margarita in hand when I saw him tho! LOL He was so good!

This morning was the mtg and the Jessica Simpson sang the Anthem (sorry but she really bugs me?? maybe its just me tho! lol), Jon Bon Jovi played 3 songs and I nearly died when he walked out on stage. I LOVE him. They ended the mtg with GARTH BROOKS!!! OMG, he sang a few songs and was just really cool. I love his voice.

Then we had lunch and now I am home coming down off my high!! LOL

What an awesome week. I just had to share!

Wal-Mart :)

They are always doing something awesome for us. Contrary to what the media says. :)

Okay I am very jealous of you now. Is the company your dh works for hiring?
It sounds like a very FUN week!

My brother works for them & gets NOTHING like that.

I actually like Jessica Simpson blush

By Conni on Friday, June 3, 2005 - 05:59 pm:

LOL! Karen, why are you blushing? You can like her! :) I tried to watch the Nick and Jessica special when they were in Iraq and couldnt. Something about her facial expressions when she sings maybe? Not sure. My dh thinks she is just great of course. ;)

Emily7- we are at the corporate offices. Where does your brother work? They do bring in employees from stores and clubs all over the place during shareholders week so they can have the chance to participate. But for obvious reasons they cant bring every employee in from every store. They take turns each year i think? You can ask him how it works now. Thats how it was when I worked there anyway. One of my girlfriends that works for a Sam's Club in Dallas actually got to come 2 yrs ago. It was a fun time for her. :)

I am glad the traffic will be back to normal now!

I got to take my 15yo to a Jessie McCartney concert recently. Not my best time, since I would rather listen to someone else. She enjoyed it, but got a headache, so we left early. As we walked into the concert building, they handed me a package of ear plugs. I used it, too. Girls can scream LOUD!

Someone named Brie Larsen was also at the concert. She opened for Jessie. That is really who Sarah wanted to see.

I didn't watch the special, and when they attempted their *variety* show, I couldn't stomach that.

I just think that in spite of her coming across as a *dumb blonde*, she really does have a strong voice, and she has her hands in so many projects. I have no clue about her acting ability - *why* do I think she won't be good? LOL

Conni, we live in the same area as you but my husband works for the other major coorporate office in town--Tyson!:) We went out to eat last night and I was actually suprised that it wasn't any more crowded than it was. I heard a waitress saying they staffed alot expecting a large crowd like the earlier days but that everyone must have already gone home because the place wasn't crowded at all. I am glad you got to enjoy the concerts!
