I cried at work.......grrrr

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive May 2005: I cried at work.......grrrr

I feel like such an idiot! I have the highest position in my company under the owners, so I have to show a certain amount of professionalism and letting someone make you cry just isn't cutting it.

I work for a mortgage company and I am in charge of operations for three branches. We have been so busy lately that I have been having to process loans to take some of the pressure off of the full time processor.

I got chewed out by a loan officer who accused me of not caring if loans closed because I am on salary, etc....blah blah blah. Basically, he was stressed out because something went wrong on this loan and he doesn't get paid if they don't close. This person is chauvenistic in certain ways, but usually tolerable, so when he jumped me the second I walked in the door, it caught me off guard and overwhelmed me. I tried to discuss the problem, but he was very argumentive. I went into the restroom and cried, but, I just couldn't keep it in, so my darn eyes were red and I felt weepy for a few hours. I had to go and talk to my boss about it and of course I cried when I started talking about it.

It has pretty much blown over, but I am so angry still. Especially since I let that pig get me upset.

Sorry, I needed to vent and I know that other women will understand.

Oh boy, do I understand. I cry even when I don't want to! Just be glad you were able to do it in private!

{{{Katherine}}} I an sure everyone has that kind of a day every now and then, I know I do. Especially when some one like that makes me angry!
Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

That is the worst....I got chewed about my principal once for something hardly related to me when I was pregnant, about to walk out the door with a bus full of kids and parents, and I cried halfway to the field trip! I felt so mad and upset and I just couldn't hold it in. I felt the same way as you. It happens to everyone sometimes. Hope you're feeling better now. (((Katherine)))

I think it shows that we are human, and I would not worry about anyone who would think any less of you for crying. Personally, I think this loan officer was the one not being professional in his over all approach with you.

Late on this one, but ditto ditto ditto! You're only human, and actually, it's better for all that emotion to spill out, than keep it bottled up! BTDT too......worse things could happen! LOL

I found out today that this man turned in his notice. Now I am seeing the big picture. I think he was stressed because he was trying to make a decision about taking a new job and lashed out at me. Oh well. It's over now and I feel alot better. :)
