Any Pink/Red Hats out there?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive May 2005: Any Pink/Red Hats out there?

I just finished reading The Red Hat Club and The Red Hat Club Rides Again by Haywood Smith and I have discovered that there is A Red Hat Society! I would be a Pink Hat, as would most of my friends because we are under 50 years old. It sounds like so much fun I am thinking of starting up a Pink Hat Club. Anyone else a Red/Pink Hat? MM

My MIL just started a Red Hat Club a few months ago. I've seen several Red Hat Societies out eating at local restaurants on occasion. I just recently learned about Pink Hats. I think I'll wait until I'm 50 and officially a red-hatter. :)

They hit our area several years ago. Now, everywhere I turn, there are red hat pins, red hat bags, etc., etc. So much, in fact, that I'm boycotting them! LOL

In three and a half years, when I turn 50, I'm not going to hide my hair with a red hat - I'll proudly wear it in whatever cut/color/style I choose. I'm not going to wear purple - not my color....I'm going to throw on the most sapphire blue I can find, cause that's my color.

See, to me - that's what growing older is about - marching to the beat of my OWN drummer. And if I can't find a drummer that fits, I'll beat the dang drum myself!

LOL

I've just seen red hat stuff in a scrapbooking store here in Canada. I first heard of it when in FL in March, but I've never seen it here. I guess it's everywhere!

Red hat stuff is everywhere. I haven't seen any pink hat people, just red hat people.

I think the whole idea of the red and purple mixture is actually saying that at age 50,we are marching to our own beat, and even though red and purple don't "match",at our age we can wear what we want, simply because we can.But I don't personally want to join a group. Not that I am ashamed at all about being 51.But I don't look, act or feel like I'm in my 50's.So I don't want 'something'reminding me that I am.I might start thinking i'm old.lol

Thanks for the input. It looks like fun to me. MM

It looks like fun to me, too, but I still have almost 5 years to wait, before I get that far. There might be a whole new fad, in 5 years!
