I am really hoping that my doctor says that something has changed. Although I am not miserable (since my swelling went down) I just really want to see my little baby girl this week hopefully. Thanks a bunch and I will update when I get back from the doctor today.

Candis, I hope you get the news that you want from your doctor today.

OKAY, here goes the update...

So I went to the doctor today and she said that my cervix was still thick, BUT the baby has came down more, so that's good. And I am going back on Thursday, but she said feel free to go into labor before then. I wish! Anyway, after we see how Thursday goes she said if I have thinned enough that she could break my water and induce my labor but I think I want to wait (as impatient as I have been I still want to do it by myself). But we will see, she said on thursday she was going to check the fluid, I am assuming to make sure the baby hasn't used the bathroom in there. So I guess I will have more news by Thursday unless I go before then...(please, please, please *fingers crossed*)

By Annie2 on Monday, May 16, 2005 - 09:39 pm:

That is good news. On Thursday do you mean she will strip your membrane? If she breaks your water you'll have to be admitted.

I know the end is tough with the not knowing when, where, how....you're doing great! Hang in there, it won't be too much longer! :)

By Rayanne on Monday, May 16, 2005 - 09:46 pm:

It's almost here sweetie. I know what you mean about wanting to do it on your own. I had to be enduced with Rylee and am hoping that next time, I can go into labor by myself, since it will be my last. Good luck sweetie, and keep us posted.:)

Candis, by checking your fluid she probably means making sure you have enough amniotic fluid. They can't check for meconium until your water breaks. I was a week overdue and my fluid was low. Even with the baby urinating (which they do :)) if wasn't keeping my amniotic fluid levels high enough so I was induced. She may strip your membranes or...I was induced the first time with prostaglandin gel. It's a suppository that helps soften and thin things out. You have to be monitored with a fetal monitor for an hour or so and then you can go home. I was back at the hospital 2 hours later. :)

It's getting close for you!! Can't wait!
