Question about links

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive May 2005: Question about links
By Emily7 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 10:51 am:

How do you post the clickable links? Does that make sense?

By Kernkate on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 11:04 am:

Good question, I can't figure it out.

By Karen~moderator on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 11:29 am:

Like this: \newurl {type the URL here - as in www.whatever.com , insert name of link here (such as Baby cribs, or you can just use the www. whatever .com), without the spaces, of course.

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 12:09 pm:

\newurl{http://www.lakebreeze.org,Lakebreeze}

New url makes the link open in a new page.

By Emily7 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 12:33 pm:

Thank you!
Will the same formula work for e-mail too?

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 03:26 pm:

It will, sort of. Most of us don't link our email addresses to cut down on spam, but it can be done.

Hmmm, got the words, but the link didn't work. Guess I will have to work on that! :)

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 05:05 pm:

You need to put in the whole url when you do it.

You need the http:// part, too.

Link with http stuff

Keeps going to momsview.com then the website is listed after it. What am I doing wrong?

By Cat on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 11:55 am:

Huh, I always use "link" instead of "newurl". It works for me. :)

By Trina~moderator on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 12:03 pm:

Type without spaces...

\ link {http://www.moms.view.com,MomsView.com}

and you'll get...

Momsview.com

By Trina~moderator on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 12:05 pm:

Hmmm, I made a typo but it still worked. I typed "moms.view.com" but meant to type "momsview.com". LOL!

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 02:56 pm:

RiffandShelby.com

By Reds9298 on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 02:57 pm:

Okay, it worked. Thank you!!! That's my dogs homepages!

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 03:32 pm:

You need to remember to put the http:// part in. If you don't, it will think it's part of Momsview!

the slash newurl just makes the link open in a new page.
