Embarrassing Question

I'm going Anon because this is very embarrassing. Since I was 12 I've had to wear a pantiliner every single day of my life due to discharge. My OB/GYN doesn't understand this and tells me to just wear cotton undies and let that absorb any discharge. He doesn't seem to get that it feels icky and is so plentiful that pantiliners are needed.

Do any of you need them everyday? How often do you wear them? Do you need them just for visits from Aunt Flow or do you have heavy discharge too?

I wear panty liners every day, too. It hasn't always been this way. I think just since I've had kids. My cervix is very low (almost prolapsed), so I imagine that has something to do with mine, anyway. I've never brought it up to my doc. Maybe I should. I've just figured it was normal. It's really not a lot, but like you, I'd rather wear a panty liner than have my undies absorb it. That just feels yucky to me, too. You're not alone. Whether we're normal or not??? Who knows! :)

I have had 3 kids and my muscles down there can sure use some toning also. I too have noticed an abundance of discharge. actually last month I thought I was ovulating due to the discharge and then a week later had the same discharge with the same consistency and that was probably when I was actually ovulating. I didn't think it was possible to ovulate twice in one month. I have especially noticed it since the last one was born and she will be a year old this month.

I sometimes have alot too. I heard alot can mean its ovulation time, but obviously that doesn't happen everyday, plus I'm on the pill. I don't wear them everyday, maybe 10-12 days a month. I don't use them at all for Aunt Flow - too heavy for just a liner beginning to end unfortunately.

Count me in on this crowd. Infact after DS was born, I have been "flowing" so to speak ever since. I keep thinking my period is about to start, but that's not it. There is quite an amount and definitely enough for a liner. Sometimes I go without one with my cotton undies, but as mentioned that just feel gross. But I also don't like the feel of no air getting around w/ a liner. Womanhood, and the things that NO ONE ever tells you about or is ready to even discuss. Glad you mentioned it here today, because I just thought I was gross. If men only knew what we know. And yes, a shower before intimacy is a need here.

I'm another one for the list, I've always had heavy discharge. Not a lot, but enough to notice. I have a tilted uterus, Cat mentioned her cervix being low, maybe it has something to do with physical build? As long as your doc has checked for any problems, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Pantyliners were invented for a reason. I'm actually really glad to see this thread, because I've often felt the same way you have, like no one else has this "problem".

I wear a panty liner every day for the same reason and have since middle school. It does feel gross in your panties...ugh! This is where having an older sister comes in handy. At the risk of really grossing you all out :), my sister and I refer to it as the "drippies." *eewww* I could tell you what we call it when you don't wear panty liners, but you would really think I was gross.
