Cake Help!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive April 2005: Cake Help!

I made a cake earlier and was in such a rush that I forgot to grease the pan. It's cooked and cooled off now but I can't get it out of the pan to frost it. The sides aren't sticking because I just ran a knife along the sides. Is there any way to get the bottom to not stick so I can get it out. I used a glass pan.

Frost it and serve it in the glass baking dish. Since it's glass, it should look okay.

I always like frosting the sides though. I suppose I could do that and just frost the sides as I cut pieces?

I have never taken a cake out of the pan to frost the sides! LOL! I usually use my metal cake pans! I hate when I forget to grease the pan!

How was it?

Hope you figured out a way to serve it. If it happens again, hold the pan over your stove burner until the bottom is hot. That sometimes will allow you to turn the pan over, and release the cake on to a plate. Just rap it when you place it on the plate.
