Travel Trailers

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive April 2005: Travel Trailers

We are trying to decide on a travel trailer to buy. We have narrowed it down to two choices. Here is the first one: model 26B-DSL

And the second one:

Any advice or suggestions???

Just from looks I would go with number 2. But I know nothing about travel trailers!

I know nothing about travel trailers, but DO know they are a safer option than motorhomes concerning child passenger safety. Motorhomes often don't have front facing seats with seat belts to secure car seats or boosters. With travel trailers kids ride safely restrained in the hauling vehicle. Just thought I'd share that bit of info. :)

Just curious, how big of a vehicle is required to haul a travel trailer? I'm assuming a truck or SUV. ?? I *think* our minivan has some hauling capabilities but I'm sure there is a limit. Never looked it up because it was never an issue for us. However, now that I think of it, that would be a fun way to travel! Hmmm, can you rent travel trailers??

Yes Trina, at least around here you can rent them! I don't know anything about the different travel trailers. I would think that the layout of it and the amount of storage would be pretty important to me though.

We've been looking into them just for an idea of the cost for a future purchase but we've been looking at toy haulers instead of just the average travel trailer. Just remember, they are like vehicles and the price can be talked down. :) Look on rvtrader.com for used ones in your area too.

Ditto Melissa... Dh has been looking at them for a possible purchase in the future. He has decided he like the 5th wheel models. His Dad and stepmom have a 5th wheel and so does my sis/bil. Theirs has a toy hauler that is nice. He really likes them.

The ones you are looking at look really nice!!! They sure have come a long way havent they? lol We stayed in my mil's and her dh's over spring break. Its one of the big bus looking rv's. It was so plush inside! Blake kept pushing all the buttons and i was a nervous wreck! I just thought for sure we were going to screw something up. lol

Have fun shopping. Wish I had more knowledge about them. I dont know what to tell you.
