Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive April 2005: What's for dinner?

This is always a fun post.:)

We are having london broil with a side of leftover homemade macaroni and cheese and a tossed salad. I also have french bread in the bread machine if someone wants some of that instead of the pasta. MMMmmm.....so what's cooking?

By Eve on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 - 04:02 pm:

Since it's just DD and I tonight for dinner, we're having soup (DD loves soup!) and salad. :)

By Colette on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 - 04:07 pm:

Dh and I are having steak tips and salad. The vegetarian is having portabellos stuffed w/goat cheese, basil, panko bread crumbs and the portabello stems, the other 2 dks are having cheeseburgers, and all the kids will have rice pilaf, fruit salad and brocolli.

I am so happy we can finally enjoy cooking outside again!!

Yeah, but this always get posted on a Wed. which is just a crazy night for us with church and my class. So...lunchables for the boys. DH and I will scavenge at about 9:00 tonight. LOL

We are having chicken marinated in Italian dressing on the GF grill. We will probably have rice, broccoli in lemon butter and a green salad. I'm not sure about the sides. DD just said she wanted pasta, not rice!

Colette, I want to come over for dinner some night. I don't eat that well, much less my kids!

By Annie2 on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 - 05:07 pm:

Pam, too funny. This is the only night during the week when I am HOME and can cook LIVE without having to crockpot, casserole, fast food or a quick fix! LOL

Annie2, I'll start the post next week then on Monday. That's MY night to really cook! :)

By Kay on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 - 05:15 pm:

We're having chicken teriyaki this evening.

Cori - I want to make it real clear to everyone, the only reason my dinners are like this is because dh LOVES to cook. He cooks for him and I every night. He gets home late so we do not eat dinner w/the kids during the week. The mushrooms took about 5 minutes to put together and it was only one bowl. I made those but usually it's all on dh - cooking is a stress release for him.

I just found out that we are not having steak and salad tonight though. He is picking up takeout thai food for him and I.

It is 80 degrees here today, which is almost unheard of for the beginning of April in NE Ohio, so we are grilling! We have some thin steaks so we are grilling those and making fajitas! The kids will have hotdogs since they probably won't eat the fajitas. Then after dinner we are going out for ice cream. We have to enjoy today since tomorrow will be back down to the 60s. :(

Turkey Burgers. Just me and the boys this week. So dinner is going to be very simple. :)

Last night was soup and sandwiches. lol

Turkey Burgers and Bratwurst here, DH is barbequing tonight. I'm also making spinach/artichoke dip and maybe some sort of salad on the side. :)

I need to go grocery shopping. We have basically nothing in the house, lol. Lots of food storage stuff like macaroni and rice and potatoe buds, but no "real" food!

Not sure what we'll have since I'm not going shopping till tomorrow. Maybe I'll have dh run down to the store and get something to grill. It's a lovely day :)

By Kernkate on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 - 07:12 pm:

We had Cheese Ravioli's..DD favorite, with a toss salad.

I had leftover meatballs in the house... so DH and I had meatball subs with provolone cheese, threw on some roasted peppers, and made some frozen french fries. DD had her oatmeal and bananas and apples for dinner. Yum! :)
