Not TTC!! HELP!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive March 2005: Not TTC!! HELP!!
By Andi on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 09:25 am:

Here's the deal. I stopped nursing 3 months ago. DH got "fixed" :) about 3 weeks ago. I had my first period since DD was born (8 months ago) last month and if I go by that date I am almost 3 weeks late this month. I took 3 Pregnancy Tests last week and all were negative. I keep getting that cramping feeling like I am going to start my period and NOTHING!!

I don't remember how long it took for me to get back on my regular cycle when I had DS. What do you ladies think???? I am planning on calling the doctor this morning but I wanted to run it by you guys and see if you had any suggestions.

Please send the NO BABY vibes my way. :)

~*~*~*~*~*NO BABY VIBES*~*~*~*~*~:)

Let us know what the doctor says sweetie.
Mine was right on track after I stopped breastfeeding. Sorry I am not any help.

{{{Andi}}} My cycle was out of whack for several months after I stopped nursing. It does take awhile for it to get back on schedule. However, I have to say my DH wasn't sperm free until 3 mos. post V. If your EPT tests have been negative I don't think you have anything to worry about, but I can certainly understand your concern! Be sure your DH brings those samples in and continue to use BC until the doctor gives him the green light.

My gyn told me that you will likely get a false positive on a preg test rather than a false negative. Negative almost always means negative. No baby vibes comin' your way!!!

By Juli4 on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 11:29 am:

my cycle was also out of whack and even now I still take a pregnacy test just in case. dont worry too much. I even skipped months.

By My2cuties on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 11:31 am:

I hope everything works out. Just wanted to add that because I sure don't remember my cycle a year and a half ago, seems like it took a while to get on track though, be sure and let us know how things go. If your late, your doctor will see you then you can go from there, I have had a false negative (not to scare you, but it can happen) about 2 weeks before the positive for Hailey came up. Good Luck and No Baby Vibes!!!!

I distinctly remember buying tests several times because my cycle was out of whack for months after each birth and BFing time. I don't think you have anything to worry about but I don't blame you for being worried. I always did too.

By Ginny~moderator on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 11:43 am:

That the tests are negative is encouraging. It does take a while for the hormones to get back onto schedule. NO BABY VIBES - oh yes, I sure understand.

But - I understand that your dh got "fixed" 3 weeks ago, but until he gets an all-clear (no wiggly guys) from the doc, you have to use birth control of one kind or another. Sure hope you were.

No baby vibes! :)
It took a few months for my cycle to get back to a predictable track after I stopped nursing.

By Tunnia on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 12:25 pm:

No advice because I personally don't know what a normal cycle is. LOL Just wanted to send NO BABY VIBES your way!:)

By Missmudd on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 03:30 pm:

I doubt you are prego w/ 3 neg tests, but I understand your concern. I was like 5 days late right before dh had the big V and I almost had a nervous breakdown. We had thought about it and made the decision that we were DONE and then I am 5 days late. I can still remember the panic. lol.

By Jelygu on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 04:21 pm:

I understand you are concerned, but I agree that with 3 false tests, pregnancy is unlikely. But just in case, here are some NO BABY VIbes!!

By Dawnk777 on Monday, March 21, 2005 - 11:01 pm:

After Emily was born, my cycle was pretty whacked. It took probably 6 months to get back to my usual routine. My period came back when both of my daughters were about 4 months old. After Sarah, I think I was right back on track, but it was definitely weird for a while after Emily.

(now, when I would like things to slow down, I'm as regular as clockwork, still!)

By Andi on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 - 03:47 pm:

Well I took another test today and it is negative! :):):)
I am just going to pray that my body is still out of wack that is why I am not getting a period this month.

DH and I are going to Vegas the first weekend in April so I just pray it dosen't decide to show up that weekend!

LOL. It's the only time we are happy about our period...when we think we may have an unexpected pregnancy!
