What a day

My dog is just having a bad week. She had a pretty mild seizure just a little while ago, the first shes had since she was a puppy. She just had her bloodwork done the other day and everything came back normal. Her white blood cell count was a little up because allergy season is approaching but other than that, everything looked great. This was the first seizure i've ever witnessed with her and it was hard just holding her down for that 20-30 seconds. Of course, I called DH because I was frantic and crying and of all days he doesnt answer his phone. I'm scared for my baby. First, her knee problem and now seizures. I hope this was one episode and they dont come back altogether. When she was a puppy she had about 4-5 grand mal seizures but the doctors couldnt get a correct diagnosis and put her on phenobarbitol. She was on it for a month and taken off, never to have another seizure, until now. I hate this. I hate my dog getting old and developing problems that make her uncomfortable. I just want that little puppy I took home 5 1/2 years ago to never grow up. :( I called her doctor and had it charted that she had a seizure but for now, all I can do is watch over her.

I'm so sorry Melissa. It's hard when we something wrong with our pets and there isn't much we can do, but sit back and watch. I hope that she feels better soon.
