For the last 3 weeks off and on I have felt really lousy. I'd have chills and aches for a few days then it would pass for a few days then start all over. Yesterday I felt okay when we got up to go to church but as the day wore on, I felt worse and worse. DH had gotten IMAX tickets to see Robots so I went but I was aching and so sleepy. When we got home from the movie, I went to bed and slept the night away. Called in sick this morning and went to the doctor. Had a bunch of tests run. Everything came up negative. Doc says I'm gonna do a flu test just to make sure I cover all bases. I HAVE the FLU! It was the only think that came back positive. She's worried I may have mono too since I've been feeling bad for 3 weeks but the results won't be back for a few days on the mono.
Well, at least I know why I ache and hurt so much lately. She gave our whole household Tamiflu.
I've lain on the couch all afternoon, too. DD (age 4) has been taking care of mommy. She pets on me and brings me drinks and says "Mommy, are you still sick?" Lord, thank you. I love that child.

Debbie hope you are feeling better real soon. The flu is in our area and it seems to be holding on forever!
What a good DD you have to take care of you like that.
I myself am heading to bed early...I have a pounding headache, sore throat and freezing. So I am guessing I will feel worse tomorrow.!

I am sorry to hear that you are sick, especially with the flu. We all had strep throat last month and now my 5 year old has gotten for the third time as of yesterday and late last night my 23 month old was running a fever too so I guess she probably has it again too! I just hate it when I hear that someone is sick. Your daughter is sweet and she probably likes playing "mommy" to you. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I can totally understand how you are feeling. I have had the flu since last Tuesday. I am going to the doctor today because I think I now have a sinus infection. I have lost 4 lbs because I just can't eat. I have never had the flu for this long! We leave for vacation in just 10 days, so I am hoping it passes soon.

I hope you feel better soon. Just take care of yourself and try to get as much rest as you can. It sounds like your dd is a great helper.

BTW--to those of you who have had strep or are getting it again. Did the doc or anybody ever tell you to change your toothbrush in the middle of the antibiotic treatment? That is one of the biggest sources of reinfection. When the patient is feeling better and fever has stopped, throw away your old toothbrush and get a new one!!!

I'm feeling much better, thank you. That Tamiflu stuff is pretty good stuff. My dh had the flu 4 years ago (started the day I deleivered dd, but he didn't let on to how bad he felt until after we were home with her and I was settled down as a new mommy) and was sicker than a dog for a week and pretty weak for another week or two after that. I was taking ibuprofen every 4 hours until I started the Tamiflu. But now I'm not near so achy. DD is really a darling daughter.
