I have never had this before. I have been in pain since yesterday afternoon. I called the doctor today and they want me to go have a urine test today and I can see her tommorrow! I don't know if I can wait until then. I was seriously thinking about taking Vicodin last night for the pain. I don't have any burning, nor do I feel like I am going to the bathroom more. It's just this pain in my lower back and around to the front pelvic area. I am sure it is to low for appendicitis. My dh had that already. Anyway just wondering if anyone has ever had one and just had the pain nothing else. I have to work tonight to!

Oh yes!! I had one in January that had me couch ridden!! They should be able to tell you in about 5 minutes if you have one or not. They will send it out to the lab, but they should have the rapid test too. Go now, it will only get worse if that is what it is. You need and antibiotic!! The first antibiotic they put me on didn't work and I was in so much pain I was ready to go to the ER! After they switched my antibiotic, I felt so much better with in 24 hours. Trust me, if you wait, it WILL get much worse. GO NOW!!!

Pain in the lower back certainly sounds like a kidney infection to me rather than a bladder infection. That's how mine started (many years ago) and I can still remember how much it hurt. Call your doctor back and see if they can squeeze you in, at least enough to do the quick test on the urine sample, take your temp, and ask a couple of questions. Otherwise you may find yourself in a lot more pain and in the ER.

Well I went for the urine test yesterday. I asked twice at the lab and they had never heard of the rapid test! Uugh! My doctor does not see patients on Wed and they were not even in yesterday afternoon. So anyway I have my appointment for today in about an hour. I see now why I hate going to the doctor. I never go and when I need to I can't get in! I would change doctors but I have been pleased the few times that I have needed them. Also they will call in meds if you call them and tell them you have a sinus infection or something which is a big plus in my book. I wouldn't do that this time though since I have never had one before. So I will let you know what happens. I just really wish I did not have to go to work today!~ Oh Vicky I am so glad you said that about the pulled muscle. Because that was exactly what I thought that it felt like.

I can't believe they have never heard of a rapid test!! I went to a stat care type of place with mine and they knew in less than 5 minutes. Like I said, they did send it out to the lab to grow the culture, what ever that means, but I believe they do that with the rapid strep tests too. In any case, I am glad that your being seen today. Let us know what you find out!
