Boo suffered from repeated ear infections.A common trait in Shar-pei`s I was told. I had to take her to the vet every 2 months to get her ears cleaned out then she was put on an anti-inflamatory drug and sometimes antibiotic.
So surgery is a more cost effective option in the long run and is suppose to be better for her.
She is having surgery in both ears to make her ear canals larger.
I miss her though *sniff sniff* and so does her mom china.
We are both just kind of moping around today waiting to hear from the vet.(( sigh ))
She has to spend the night and can come home tomorrow morning.

Awwwwwwwwww.......poor Boo! I'm sure she will be fine. A good friend of mine had a Shar-pei, and he constantly had cherry eye and ear infections. He was also allergic to grass, and his paws stayed irritated from the grass when he had to go outside to do his business. My friend never opted for the surgery for her dog. Let us know how Boo is when she gets home!!

The Vet called and talked with my dh and said everything went fine , though Boo can`t come home until Thursday .He said she needs to lay low until then.

Sue, I am going through the same thing. Except for my cat "Boo Boo" (how weird is the name thing?) She has an ulcer on her eye and is being operated on today. I can pick her up Thursday. I am so worried about her. I'll be thinking of you and your dog.

My Boo`s full name is Boo Boo too like your cat`s.
Will Boo Boo have to wear one of those collars
around her neck so she doesn`t scratch her eye?
My Boo has to..
I know they are the best thing for them it`s just a pain because it takes a while for them to adjust and they bump into things and Boo can`t fit out the dog door with it on.
She has to wear it for 3 weeks!
I scheduled the surgery for this week because we are going to Florida for spring break
and by that time (I Pray) she will not need the collar on .
Let us know how things go.We all miss our Boo terribly.I`m sure you miss your BooBoo just as much.
