I don't want to spend a lot, therefore I don't know where to look. I want it to be mission style with a cherry stain.

Any ideas? I looked on ebay and the one I liked was $400 and i'm looking for something half that price. When I searched google, most of them were executive style and way too big for our place.

Are there any used office/furniture places in your area?? When I was teaching in NH there was a place called Ernie's that sold second hand office furniture, etc.. I got a nice desk for $50. Worth looking into. Good luck!

We got a very nice corner desk at Wal-mart for $100 (I think... give or take a little but not over $200). It's worth a try. Good Luck on your hunt.

One of the money wasting mistakes my dh and I made when first married and starting our family: we bought cheap furniture. Yes, of course that was all we could afford. However, it was money thrown away. It looked okay but never lasted a move in the military, for sure.
If I had to start all over again I would buy quality furniture from second hand stores with the idea to refinish it later on down the road. It may be mismatched but quality is better than cheap in the long run.
Check out second hand shops, yard sales, classifieds, etc.

I just saw a nice mission style desk yesterday at Target in a cherry stain... It was $72!

I have the mission computer desk from Target! I love it. I have the hutch that sits atop it and also the "printer/file" table. All of these fit into a nice small area in my dining room. I think all 3 were just a little more than $200.00. Great value!

I have a Sauder desk and printing stand, since we had our basement flood in 1998. It's holding up nicely! Wasn't anywhere near $400.
