A TRUE STORY

By Meltonmom on Saturday, March 5, 2005 - 09:45 pm:

My husband is works for a large cable coorporation, "high up" in repairs. He had to work late tonight due to an outage.

Me: "So how did it go today??"

Him: "We had an outtage. I wanted to come home but "David" and I had to stay an hour and watch TV at the Hub to make sure it didn't go out on us again."

Me: "So, you were in one city on one side of town, by yourself, and he was in another city on the other side of town, by himself and the two of you were both watching free cable and getting paid to do this for an hour while you talked to each other on the phone to make sure you could see the picture?"

Him: "Well, yea. The supervisor knew we were doing it, he said he'd rather we check it and make sure it is working than go home and then have to be called back out on overtime."

Me: "I see. (thinking it over and wondering at the working of men's minds......)I was wondering, just out of curiousity what did ya'll watch? (I am fearing the worst, "dirty" movies or sports network....)

Him: "FOOD NETWORK."

Me: (laughing) "NOOO!"

Him: "Well, yea, sure, it was almost dinnertime. They were talking about comfort food, ya know?? Macaroni and cheese, chocolate, stuff like that... why are you laughing?? What's so funny???"

Me: "Never mind, never mind....."

Two men, watching TV, on the clock with free cable and they choose....

FOOD NETWORK...

Oh my......

I feel kinda guilty for being so suspicious! :-)

I would have at least guessed that they would have been watching ESPN or something!

Actually, my dh likes the Food Network, too.

LOL so does mine. He is probably dreaming and wishing i would make something fancy like that. LOL. Sorry honey, not in my lifetime. I'm not a cook.

whoops, ok, chocolate and mac and cheese are not fancy foods. But the things they usually cook on that channel are! LOL

LOL, I know Nate would have been watching ESPN. Or Spike TV, I hate their programming!

Funny! DH would have probably been watching C-span or Deutsche Welle!

I love when my dh watches the food network. I always know he'll be cooking something great that night.
