By Kernkate on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 03:36 pm:

I was wondering who else here is expecting a big snow fall today and tomorrow. We are expecting 15-20 inches here by 6p.m. tomorrow. :(
It just has started with light flurries here in NE PA.

By Sue3 on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 03:45 pm:

Here in Michigan , we are expecting about the same.
A snow day for school tomorrow I am sure .
It`s been snowing non stop since early this a.m.
and isn`t suppose to stop until tomorrow evening sometime.
Why couldn`t we have gotten this at Christmas break I wonder ???
I need some sun.
I think I am going to have to make an appointment at the tanning shop.

By Maddysmommy on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 05:14 pm:

Yes so are we and I am worried about dh.
he will be driving home from work after midnight tonight a 45 min drive in this mess. I will not sleep a wink.

By Vicki on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 05:25 pm:

We are getting it too. It was rain this morning and didn't change to snow and start sticking until about 3ish... but it is supposed to continue all night. The streets are almost covered as well and the grass now.

By Trina~moderator on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 05:32 pm:

We're supposed to get 6-8" tonight in CT. Not a flake in sight as of yet.

By Colette on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 05:42 pm:

12+, and winds, and thunder and lightning. Heavy wet snow....sigh...our average snowfall is 40 inches and we are up to 70 so far....

By Colette on Monday, February 28, 2005 - 05:43 pm:

no snow yet though...

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 12:10 am:

Only about an inch here. Won't stop our lives! LOL! Although, once it got dark today, the roads got icy, after being wet all day. Made driving around kind of treacherous. We did go out to eat for supper, but stayed home after that. It's a bummer, since I wanted to go to the grocery store. Well, I will get there sometime tomorrow, and for right now, homemade bread smells good in my kitchen!

By Wandilu on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 12:18 am:

And once again, here in Tn...NO SNOW !!! At least not in my part.We MIGHT ,but not likely, have maybe an inch by morning. The Dogwood tree's are already almost fully bloomed.

By Sue3 on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 07:35 am:

All the area schools are closed today. It is blizzard conditions outside.
I am glad the I went to meijers yesterday and sam`s club.
I have a haircut to do this morning ,it`s my neighbor , so he just has to walk down his driveway.
*sigh* I love the snow but by the time March and April arrive I am pretty much tired of it.
The sun hasn`t been out here in quite a while

By Trina~moderator on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 07:39 am:

NO SCHOOL today because of that darn white stuff. The kids just had winter vacation last week! Argh.

Longing for SPRING!!

By Cat on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 07:51 am:

Sue, my oldest brother lives next door to my mom (who for those who don't know lives very close to Sue!). He drives truck cross-country and is in the Denver area today (he's hoping his next load will bring him by the Springs so he can stop and visit--haven't seen him for two years). He called me yesterday afternoon when he got into Colorado and said, "Wow! The weather is so different here than at home. There's no snow!!!" lol We've been in the 40's and 50's the past few days, and today is supposed to be about 50. I'm sure we'll get ours. I'll have to call my mom today and see if she's snowed in. :)

By Sue3 on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 08:06 am:

Cat,that is so cool.I hope your brother can visit with you .
Please send your 40 and 50 degree weather
my way ! This is crazy !
Michigan weather ! ARGH !
Was your Mom working yesterday ?

By Kernkate on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 08:08 am:

flake

Here in NE PA we have 10 inches on the ground and its still coming down! UGGHHHH.
Well the kids will have fun sleigh riding and I will have a broken back from shovel...LOL

By Cat on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 08:09 am:

I'll ask her, Sue. Maybe my brother can bring back some of this weather for ya! lol I hope my mom's not working today. If the weather is too bad she will call in, but it has to be pretty bad for her to do that! She usually only works 3 or 4 days a week. She is SO looking forward to retiring for good. :)

By Colette on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 08:26 am:

I am SO HAPPY. They called this wrong for us, we only have about 6 inches. It's still snowing, but there is no way we will get 12. Still no school today and we just had vacation last week. Off to make coffee and then make snowmen w/the kids.

By Fraggle on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 11:48 am:

It is still coming down here-we are in the 6-12 inch range but we are definitely already over the 6 inches. It was so funny, when I turned on the local news station this morning they were all wearing hawaiian shirts.:) Wishful thinking.:)

By Meltonmom on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 12:55 pm:

GEORGIA!!! Snow is a real treat for us. It didn't stick but we had a dusting of snow this morning and then snow showers throughout the day. The kids have just had a blast running around watching it fall. This afternoon the sun came out so it will probably be over in a few minutes. But it was neat for the kids to see it this morning. M&M

By Colette on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 01:28 pm:

Forget my earlier post. We have close to our 12 inches and it's still snowing....

By My2cuties on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 01:36 pm:

awww...colette you poor dear...lol wishful thinking huh?

We had about an inch this morning...wooohooo, the sun came out and cleared the roads and so it is a nice day and it is still coming down every now and then it is so beautiful. :) But is it not snowman snow it is like powder. Good Luck to everyone that is getting a whole lot I hope you stay warm.

By Bellajoe on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 03:38 pm:

It's coming down here in NE Ohio. It has been snowing since last night. I"m not sure how much we are supposed to get.

By Kernkate on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 04:29 pm:

OMG will this snow ever stop??? It has been snowing since yesterday at 3 and still coming down heavy. I can not even tell you how much we have now! We had 10 inches at 8 this morning and DH just heard at work they are still calling for 4-6 tonight.
Florida is looking really good to me right now:) LOL

By Colette on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 05:00 pm:

I know, it's just silly now...it's still snowing here too.

By Ginny~moderator on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 06:12 pm:

8.5 inches in Blue Bell, where I work, and about the same where I live - about 8-10 miles north of Northwest Philadelphia. Mostly wet, slushy stuff. My office closed at 3 and driving home was fine - roads were wet but no snow until I got two blocks from my house, where I turn onto side streets. My son shoveled when he got home, and we both cleared cars and shoveled for about a half hour this morning and we were fine.

So stupid. One of my bosses watched a car yesterday evening, around 6 p.m.,going too fast on the major road that runs by our office complex, spin out, and slide backwards down a slope, stopping at the edge of the parking lot. It's only about a 25-30 degree slope, but, of course, snow covered today. My boss says the driver just got out of the car and walked away. Around noon today he arrived with another guy and they tried to drive the car up the slope, using - of all things - a cafeteria tray to try to shovel paths for the wheels in the snow. After much effort with no result, they went away and came back with a shovel, and about 10 minutes later a tow truck. After the truck towed the car up the slope, the driver was able to just drive it away. He was really luck, as there are several trees between where he left the road and where he stopped, but he didn't hit any.

By Sue3 on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 06:24 pm:

Yes,people can be kinda stupid when it comes to driving in this ! We have had several accidents reported this p.m.
My DH said the same thing after his drive home from work, don`t people know to take it slow in this stuff?
I can`t believe that it`s still snowing !
To make matters worse it is really really windy too . *sigh* I am hoping that the sun comes out soon.

By Imamommyx4 on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 - 10:04 pm:

We got less than an inch last night and the city freaked out. Closed one of the interstates!!!!

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 07:41 am:

For less than an inch?? Oh please! We'd have to get a lot more than an inch, for them to close the interstate! LOL!

It is cold in WI, this morning. My thermometer says 8 and I heard on the radio that the windchill is -1. Although, I wasn't that cold when I was out with the dog!

By Colette on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 07:55 am:

another storm coming next week....

By Cat on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 08:21 am:

Okay, we were in the upper 40's yesterday, got almost an inch of snow overnight and school is delayed 2 hours today (the road is a sheet of ice!). It's supposed to be in the 50's today and every day for the next 4 or 5 days. Love this crazy Colorado weather! rofl

By Bea on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 08:37 am:

It's sunny and cold here in southeastern Virginia today. I'm not sure what the wind chill is but it's really blowing out there. Here on the third floor with the old, leaking windows it's brisk. BRRRRRRR. We had a few flurries yesterday, but that was all.

By Trina~moderator on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 08:39 am:

2 Hr. school delay today

By Fraggle on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 - 09:21 am:

We got just over a foot yesterday. Another storm next week, Colette? Ugh! How many more weeks till spring?
