Doing state taxes today and I'm going to blow a gasket!

It keeps telling me that the state doesn't owe us anything...grrr...I just don't think that the federal turbotax is communicating with the state turbotax and I'm going to have to enter it in by hand.
Had to vent!! I've been doing taxes ALL DAY!
*Breathe* and *sip* then *gulp* that margarita, Heidi!! (Self talk...er, type.)

We're taking ours in tomorrow to the accountant. So, we've been exchanging pleasantries (DH & I) gathering things up today. Thank goodness that part is over. I couldn't deal with it much longer. Uggh. Margarita sounds good! Hang in there! :)

We ended up paying into the state again this year. They don't call it taxachussets for nothing.

I'm thanking my lucky stars we don't have state taxes. Our federal return has to be re-filed because of my ex, that's more than enough pain in the butt for one year.

Our taxes are all done already. We pick them up from the accountant on Saturday. We are getting a refund from the federal and the state!

Hang in there! Have a sip of margarita for me! Yummee!:)

LOL, Colette. We in CT can relate! :)

What I love (NOT!) is when you get a state tax REFUND and you have to claim that as income the following year! Makes NO sense to me at all!

By Mrsheidi on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 - 09:05 am:

Ditto, Karen. I don't get that either.
I gave up and handed the state taxes over to the hubby to do. I was tired of being on the computer all day. Plus, I think he was getting a little tired of watching Connor all day...he said he couldn't do that every day. LOL. He did just wonderful though.
He finally got stuck doing our Maryland state taxes when it said that we OWED money...I don't think so. So, here we go again...is 9am too early to have a margarita? It's 5 o'clock somewhere in the world, right?

By Marg on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 - 09:12 am:

Did you move during the year?

Maryland is such a sticky state for taxes. You may owe.

We live in PA where there is just a flat rate and you do get a refund depending upon special qualifications. You may want to go to the Maryland website.

By Mrsheidi on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 - 09:21 am:

Yeah, we moved from AL to MD. I will have to check out the MD website and see if it's helpful.

By Marg on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 - 02:40 pm:

Just remember to allocate what income you made during the year while you lived in AL and then when you lived in MD.
