Prom Dress

Wow... this dress is crazy. I can't believe they are even selling it! I can't imagine many girls would want to wear this, and schools certainly wouldn't allow it anyways. I just can't believe that it was designed. What kind of sick old man designed a revealing dress for a young girl?
It is also disheartening that it is being advertised in some of the more prominent teen magazines. Disgusting!

By Karen~moderator on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 06:57 pm:

No way would Jules or Jen have been allowed to wear that!

By Katiesmommy on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 07:20 pm:

The dress did not show up in a photo with the article, so I didn't get to see it, but I can tell you right now NO WAY!!!! What in the world is the world coming to when you sell sex so blatantly to hormonally challenged kids at such an age! Kids are growing up way to fast (have been for years) and this disgustingly takes the cake!

By Yjja123 on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 08:05 pm:

When I went to prom we wore princess or cinderella type dresses. Jessica McClintock was the popular style. In fact my prom dress was an ivory Mcclintock informal wedding gown. Now days the dresses are not princess like but just plain sexy. It scares me how fast kids are growing up these days. I never would have considered a sexy dress as a teenager and there is no way my daughter will be wearing anything remotely sexy.

By Missmudd on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 08:30 pm:

Wow, it has less material than the Lopez dress... And I didnt think that was possible.. Sheesh.

By My2cuties on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 11:30 pm:

I wear more than that in the bedroom...lol (most nights ). I cannot believe that some parents would even allow their children to wear that. That is sad. So little material for so much money! My prom dress was really pretty but decent, I think I may have shown a little but not the whole boob!

By Imamommyx4 on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 11:56 pm:

Absolutely NOT!!!!

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 12:30 am:

No No No! I douby my 15yo daughter! And neither would her friends. First off, the school would never allow it and second of all, I wouldn't want my daughter dressed like that!

By Kayleesmommy on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 03:32 am:

Oh my! I would never let Kaylee wear that. I can't believe they are even selling that dress. That is just wrong. I hope a raise my daughter to know better than to even think of wearing a dress like that. I wish my husband was home so I could show him that because I know there is no way hw would let his daughter wear something like that. On top of it all I would never pay that much for a prom dress anyways.

By Mrsheidi on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 07:48 am:

Not only that, but if they did wear it, they would be embarrassed about it in 10 years. It's not even classy.
When I used to chaperone proms a few years ago, there were even 2 piece dresses showing the navel. I couldn't believe they let them wear those.
I think prom dresses should be classy, not slutty. The pictures will last a lifetime! And, boy, are they going to have to explain THIS to their children!!

By Happynerdmom on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 09:18 am:

I saw this on our local news the other night. The anchorman was funny...He said, "Sure, my daughter could wear that- over a hooded sweatshirt!"

By Kernkate on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 03:11 pm:

OMG I would never let my daughter wear anything like that. And the price for it...wow, considering there is hardly any material to it:)

By Cat on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 03:45 pm:

My first words when I saw a picture of it were "OH MY GOSH!!!" I couldn't imagine anyone letting their teenage daughter wear that! Good grief...

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 04:16 pm:

Prom Dress

This one is more my daughter's speed.

By Kate on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 05:20 pm:

This is amusing because everyone is saying they wouldn't let their DAUGHTER wear it, but no one is denying that THEY might wear it. :):):) So I'll go on record as saying no, of course my daughter would not be allowed to wear it, but there's no way I would wear it either! Besides being one of the sleaziest things I've seen, it's ugly!!

By Colette on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 05:45 pm:

Who buys that for their daughter?

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 05:50 pm:

I really don't have the body to wear a dress like that! My saggy boobs would look very pathetic! So, no, no one in my house will be wearing the dress. ($500 is a bit expensive, too!)

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 07:43 pm:

Kate, you wouldn't catch me dead in a dress like the one in the O.P.!

By My2cuties on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 07:50 pm:

I wouldn't wear it, even if I were not pregnant. :) It is not even pretty.

By Tink on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 08:09 pm:

The issue I found bothersome is that the designer says he wouldn't allow his daughter to wear it! Why would someone design a dress that even he doesn't think is age-appropriate?

That was rhetorical, I realize it is all about the money!

By Bellajoe on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 10:30 pm:

OMG! Is that for the prostitute prom? I would wear that because 1. i would look like a cow in it!
2. It's hideous and way to sleazy
3. i couldn't afford it.
:)

Same goes for my dd...except for the cow part of course :)

They were showing sexy prom dresses on our local news. It wasn't this one but it was almost as slutty. The one woman said she wouldn't even let her dd try it on, let alone wear it to prom.

By Imamommyx4 on Saturday, January 29, 2005 - 10:47 pm:

My son and his friend both looked at that dress and said they wouldn't take a girl to the prom in that dress although both had their eyeballs popping out of their heads.

By Angellew on Monday, January 31, 2005 - 10:15 am:

Not even over my dead and decomposing body would I ever let my DD wear anything like that!!! Never mind her father, older brother and godfather!!!! Never, never, never and never!!!

By Breann on Monday, January 31, 2005 - 12:19 pm:

That isn't pretty at all. I would not let my daughter wear that.
