How many loads of laundry do you do a day?

Now that I am not so tired/lazy and I am all caught up, the past few days I have noticed I need to do at least 1 a day to stay on top of it...I never knew 2 adults and 2 children could go through so much laundry in 1 day. I wonder how I could cut back on it...lol

I used to do laundry almost daily until I got my new washer/dryer. I got the new front loaders and they are so big, I can let it pile up because more fits in each load!! I would say I do laundry about every 4 days or so. I do it all in one day and let it start to pile up all over again!!

I usually do 2 loads, we call it the never-ending laundry pile! My biggest issue is whites, we generally don't have enough whites for a load, and would need to let it pile up for DAYS to even get a small load. I tend to just throw them in and not bleach them because of it.

I get sick of it BUT thank God we don't live
in the day of ringer washers! The Amish here
even hang laundry out to dry ( or should I say freeze) In the dead of winter. You would think that when they bring it in that it would thaw and be wet all over again.

That is too funny Crystal, we don't have enough reds, I do them totally seperate. So I usually end up hand washing them, If they are really needed, or wait forever to get a load.

I usually have two or three loads but some of that is my own fault. I wash everyone's sheets every 2 or 3 days. My dh and two of my kids wear uniforms so I have work/school clothes and around the house clothes.

And I'm with Crystal on the lack of whites. It takes a lot of socks, undies and undershirts to make up a load to bleach. I usually just dump each person's drawer full of socks, etc into the washer with some bleach, even though they are clean.

I do two loads(1-white and 1-dark) on Mon, Wed, and Friday. I wash sheets on Tuesday and towels on Thursday. I refuse to do laundry on the weekends!!

One a day but lately i've been letting it pile up and doing 5-6 loads once a week. We have enough clothes that we don't really need laundry done daily anyways.

I am constantly doing laundry. Hal, Jeff, myself - 1-2 loads daily - that's 7 days a week. And now I'm adding my mom's to the mix.......when I have a *short* load, I just throw Jeff's in with ours.

A day??? Ugh. I hate doing laundry. We usually do it about once a week - but a LOT AT ONCE. It's like dh and I play "chicken" to see who runs out of underwear first.

I'm with Laura. if I did it every day then it would never get put away before I would be doing more. I can't live like that! For our family of 4 I knock out clothes on Friday (usually 5 loads, sometimes 6 in the winter with bulkier clothes) and I do 2 loads of sheets and towels on Mondays.

I do laundry when ever I think of doing it ! In other words , it`s always there so I am always doing it ! Between the 5 of us it piles up really quickly.
Trisa , that is too funny about your Amish neighbors.My Mom told me that her neighbor used to do that too ! She told me that they would freeze on the line ,she would take the jeans down and they would be as stiff as card board. LOL !
I still can`t believe that they were dry though , I just may have to experiment with that myself.............

12 loads a week - 2 a day most days, some days none, some days 4 I HATE LAUNDRY!!! I am soooo picky about how it gets done that it takes forever and it makes me hate doing it...

I do several loads every day. If I don't do that, with 7 of us, I can't even make my way through the laundry room!! There's always a pile of folded clothing waiting to be put away. It's just a never ending job, but one that I really don't mind.

We also bought the front loader which holds a huge amount and the over sized dryer. We have 4 hampers around the house. And I do laundry about once a week with about 6 loads not counting sheets and blankets.

Yesterday both ds brought their baskets to me and I did 7 loads!!!!

Mondays-- are sheets/rugs day here.

You would think that 4 guys wouldnt go thru so much laundry but its just crazy!! If I am not washing their laundry (which btw alot of the time my oldest ds will help wash his now!!!), I am cleaning up nasty shoes or something.

I try to do a load every day (Mon-Sat), It usually ends up more like two loads every other day. I don't mind it as much anymore, since I've started making myself fold it right out of the dryer, and putting it away right away. That was always the worst part for me!
